Last we saw of Fimir in WHFB was 3rd ed. They definitely were unique in those days. |

I remember them from Heroquest. Scale-creep is slightly evident. |

Wondered that myself. I remember the Fimir. These minis look nice, but I am not buying them at that price. |

I've never had the pleasure of playing against them, since I didn't come into the hobby until 5th edition. I knew of them though, always wondered why GW got rid of them, maybe because the models were so awkward they didn't sell back then? --Cap |

I have first edition boxes set. I even have a few of the very old slann warriors. Those are from back when the slann were arch enemies of the pygmies. I have a friend that has some of the old pygmies. I understand that GW destroyed the molds due to political correctness. |

HA! Is that true!? Dror, you are a wealth of Gw information. If they destroyed the pygymy molds what about the dwarves? Surely they are highly offensive to any vertically-challenged Vikings?

Well a history lesson for you younguns. After the problems in South Africa.......GW decided it was not proper to have the pygmies (that were short with very extra large lips). The minis were taken out of production and destroyed. If you would like I can try and get a pic or two of the old slann warriors? Da Dror (aka The new ancient one) I think I gave my norse dwarves to a guy in OKC. Edited by Overlord Dror, 16th January 2012 - 07:42 PM.

Well, fluff-wise they were not very family-friendly: All female Fimir are sterile, so the way Fimir reproduce is by abducting young fertile women and raping them... ... probably just a bit too disturbing to be allowed in a game where a (the?) main target group is kids from 10-15 years old. LOL! I can't imagine the family gathering around the Dark Eldar Codex either. I totally remember that piece of fluff about the fimir. However the fimir from heroquest were roughly man-sized (very tall, bulky man-sized) yet these new fimir are the size of ogres. I don't want to go into too much detail but for the sake of logistical believability I think the fluff may need a re-write ..... Oh and Dror? Pics are always welcome. I find it confusing that in their experimental rules it basically stands that they combine Heavy Armour and Scaly Skin 5+ to a 4+ save... |

Is it just me or do the rules not say which army can use them? Personally, i think Forge World's experimental rules are always a bit crap. I think when they have finished the first casting they phone a bloke and tell him what they've made. He then proceeds to scribble down some bits and pieces on the back of a cigarette packet and posts them to Forge World HQ where they become the experimental rules. |
