I Dare someone to try for a Rat Ogre Horde. 40 Models, even at 2:1 RO:Pm would be a MASSIVE unit. |

That would actually be really cool, and was my first thought, but I am thinking way too expensive/not reusable. |

Would it be okay if there are characters inside the unit? I have a plan but I only have 39 models and want to add one character to it to get to 40. |

No characters. A character may accompany a unit, but it isn't part of the unit. The unit itself must be 40 models or more. |

I just noticed this part of the forum. Neat! Maybe this will help me kill two man-things with one warpstone - I could paint 40 Stormvermin for this _and_ for the March vows. Hmmm....Actually, I have 80 of them to do.... |

Hello Mods. A quick question about "May-June ~ The Skaven Objective Create a unique Skaven objective marker to be used in scenario play. The objective marker must be appropriately painted and based." Is this completely open to interpretation? Are there any specific dimensions or theme we need to incorporate? One more thing:- How rigid is the rule that we use Photobucket? I can't get it on my computer because of a netintelligence thing built in to stop the kids looking at naughty stuff and apparently it hates photobucket. I have another laptop but it's so annoyingly tempremental that I don't even bother trying to use it anymore. Could I send one of you guys the file instead or something otherwise I'll never be able to enter until I buy another laptop which is a long way off. |

Objective markers are pretty much open to interpretation. Even though a piece of scenery can be an objective, that isn't really what Scar and I had in mind. If tournament organizers want you to bring a piece of scenery, they'll ask for a piece of scenery. When the rulebook's scenarios call for an objective marker, they usually state that a coin can be substituted. Assuming that the authors mean a British coin, that could range anywhere from a 5p coin (18mm) to the old 50p piece (30mm). Therefore, I tend to think of an objective marker as being closer to the size of a model than of a piece of scenery. Since one is constantly measuring the distance from the marker's base, I find using a round marker to be easiest, and would usually put a Warhammer marker on a round 25mm or 40mm base. But that's just me. Obviously, if you're putting an objective marker on a 100mm base, there can be a lot more models within 12" of it than if you're using a 25mm base. That might or might not cause a problem for you. Really, we should drag in some of our more experienced tournament players (like Cap and Sleboda) to comment. However, the rules for the May-June competition are pretty loose about what an objective marker is (though they could theoretically change any time up until the competition begins). Traditional objective markers range from flags on a pole stuck in the ground, to treasure chests, or relics, or prisoners, or anything that two or more armies might contend over. It is, in the Alfred Hitchcock sense, a MacGuffin, something which the armies care about that provides a pretext for the plot (or in our case, the battle). It might be nice if it were somehow Skaven-themed, since other armies will be providing their own objective markers to go with their armies, but it doesn't technically have to be. Though the title of the competition is The Skaven Objective. As for the PhotoBucket rule, Scar and I decided on that after having numerous bad experiences with photos posted on sites that didn't work. The problem you're having with filters, though, sounds like it's something worth considering. Is there another photo website that you'd suggest we also consider allowing that wouldn't cause those problems? If so, Scar and I would certainly discuss it. |

Cheers for the clarification. I'll be entering that competition now. I would enter this months but I don't have 40 models that need painting. 25 to go and my planned army is complete! As for alternative Photo sites I use Flickr without any problems (that's also the GW website of choice when it comes to uploading pictures to their blog). If you could check it out that would be great. |

We'll look at Flickr. Meanwhile, I can't believe that you couldn't use more Skavenslaves. Even if you have 200 of them painted already, every Skaven player needs more slaves! |

I *could* use more slaves for the planned army but until I finish painting my backlog I can't justify buying any more. I've already uploaded some of the completed ones to this site so they would be disqualified (if I get around to finishing them that is....) |

Can't wait till the end of the year. I have some great ideas for Skaven terrain and most likely I will be focussing on terrain for a while when I finish painting my by now close to 4000 points Skaven army. Hate how my ideas are always coming up at the wrong time for the competitions. Grrr

I have a question about the current competition... Since most pieces of scenery are so big are there any changes to the size or number of images you are allowed to enter? |
