I might try to fit in a WFt instead of the ratling gun. I expect it will get you more kills. |

plus 1 to Math Just take a lvl 2 warplock engineer with warp energy condenser and a doom rocket (DR is not a necessity at this point.) replace your war lord, itll cost 11 more points than the WL.bYou can lose the command on your bunker unit for the exra points. You want them no where near combat anyway. And as for the rattling gun. Try it at your own peril. It fails to impress. trust me. |

Are slaves better than clanrats? How would they be placed (formation) 5 wide as deep as possible, they aren't necessarily better but they are infinitely cheaper so you can have a lot more of them and save more points for other things. I've got a game tomorow at 1000 points so I'd like some feedback on this list if it's not to much trouble 1000/1000 Lord Grey seer: 240 fine Heros Warlock: 85 lv1 Warp condenser you don't need him at this points level when you have a greysear, you need a battle standard bearer far more urgently Core Clanrats: 270 x40 shields WFT M,S,C ok, while the unit size is nice, you'll note in my proxy list i made for you i had one unit remain really small, right now you've got 2 units that you can put characters in, you'll want one smaller unit to carry characters so they don't have to get stuck in close combat. Clanrats: 237 x36 shields Rat gun M,S,C as above Special Rat ogres: 208 x5(ogres) x1(packmasters) Skweel: 100 rat ogres are not 50 points each, they are 5 slaves cheaper fine How is that? |

About the shields on the slaves. Look man I know it seems like the 6+ will save the day for you but look at it honestly If you run fifty with shields and musician thats 127 points. And on average you'll save about one in six. Okay thats cool I guess, but instead you could take that 25 points and get twelve more slaves. So say some nurgle warriors of chaos hit you in the CotE forum approved 18 man six man front formation with halberds and they rock the banner that gives them frenzy and they have festus the leach lord who gives them poison attacks. (this is my unit i'm talking about. I run them all kinds of punch you in the face.) your looking at twenty two strength five poison attacks that hit you on threes. About seven will miss, about 4 will poison, and then you have 11 wounds still to roll only needing twos. thats about two that fail to wound Thats about 13 wounds on the unit. Youv'e already lost combat at this point before that measly 6+ save comes to your aid. Which it will about twice if your lucky. In the end it saved you 2 rats. 25 points and all you got for your trouble was two rats. they only cost two points apiece. Hate to keep beating this dead horse, but 25 points made you back 4 points. No that is no deal. take instead the 12 rats extra so hehas to kill more of them. thats their function anyway, being to many to kill all of. Because next turn you hit those nurgly punks in the flank and show em some pain with the abomb. I copied this from another post I left on an older thread. So apply it like this, the poits you spent on superflous nonsens on your slaves was 18 points for the shields and pawleader. For those 18 point you could have a unit od 37 slave rather than a unit of 28. he'll manage another two wounds on you but you have more men to kill so its whatever. |

I think I would like to read the battle report. I could then tell you your mistakes and how to correct them. Though I do know how a beating can make you hate the game. I once tabled a beastman army turn one. And that guy hasn't played since. |

As Mathusala0 pointed out, you really need a Battle Standard Bearer. You've also mis-chosen your Weapons Teams: I'd get rid of the Ratling Gun, and even the Warpfire Thrower (better, but still too dangerous) and put in a Poisoned Wind Mortar. And you need more slaves. But most of all, get rid of those Rat Ogres, and put in a decent Rare choice, like a Hell Pit Abomination, Warp Lightning Cannon, or even a Doomwheel. You just spent over a third of your total points--363, to be exact--on 5 Rat Ogres and Skweel. For one point less, you could have fielded two Warp Lightning Cannons and a unit of 40 Skavenslaves with musician. You would have found that a much more efficient use of points. |
