Understandable, but surely you aren't placing the order with a U.S. manufacturer, having all the dice shipped to Oz, then shipping the U.S. orders back to the U.S.? (I am assuming that the manufacturer is in the U.S., i believe that they were the last time). Wouldn't it make more sense to have the order shipped from the U.S. manufacturer to the U.S. distribution hub, have them remove the U.S. orders, and send the residue on to Oz? That way you aren't paying duties on the U.S. portion of the order (which I am chauvinistically assuming is the bulk). First of all that's daft, secondly if that is the process then each order is going to cost a lot more than $5 in shipping, Oz being on the bottom of the world as it were.

it's all relative. I was trying to calculate where the top of the world would be if Perth was the bottom, but I keep coming up with Mexico, which I can't believe.

The exact other side from Perth is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, a little closer to the Caribbean than Africa.

Order sent, by the way. :)

lol, he can't find it cause it's been sticky'ed up into the top area....
:) I knew it had been stabbed. I was just referring to the fact that because I was the last person to post, my newer posts were just being added to the previous one and not updating the thread on the main page.

In theory everything you just said is true and correct - including the daft bit. In practice what you are asking the US hub to do is a very large portion of the work that I signed up for. I get the distinct impression that the last order was a headache for the person doing the legwork and that was with less designs and colours available. I chose to give members more options this time round and when making this choice it was with the understanding that I personally needed to sort and pack everything then send completed orders to the hubs throughout the world. There is a huge amount of work involved in this stage of the order and I can not reasonably expect the hub (who has agreed to be an "envelope licker" - nothing more) to take on this work in my place.

Last time the order worked well in the sense that the person who was handling overall ordering and distribution was based in the US (as is the manufacturer). The sad truth however is UE does not have an overwhelming number of Australian members and when one of them takes on something like this dice order there is unfortunately going to be costs involved arising from the fact that we are on the other side of the world. Again I apologise for these costs having to be passed on but it is the only reasonable way I see of doing it.

In terms of shipping costs, I have done a number of calculations to be sure that everything will be covered by the prices of the dice in combination with the $5 each for postage.

Finally, I understand that prices are a bit higher than some members expected but please do not let this put you off entirely. At this stage we are not looking too good as I have only received a total of eight orders. To be blunt I am going to need to see some more numbers in the next few days or the whole thing may have to be cancelled. As a result I am still sitting on the orders I have and have not yet sent payment requests - they will be sent if and when I get enough numbers to warrant the order going ahead.

While this topic is stabbed, it may be that some of the members who originally pledged dice are unaware that you've moved on to the ordering phase. I admit I don't frequent the tunnels of UE as much as I used to and only noticed you had started taking orders a few days ago. BTW, I'll be sending my email order either Monday or Tuesday due to a software issue on my computer at home and my phone being unable to process the spreadsheet. Perhaps a mass PM to the members who pledged dice would alert them of the need to get their orders in. It would be a shame to see this opportunity go wasted, not to mention the amount of work you've put in already.

Yeah give it some more time, I'm sure people will place their orders as soon as they notice the order form.

Just an FYI, I submitted my order form the day it was posted, but have yet to receive any sort of confirmation it was even received, or a request for payment.

Grinner,
I've tried twice to email you the dice order form, and it bounced both, saying that the email addy is blocked for spamming! Not sure how to get the order to you otherwise?

Deadline is the end of the month if I recall correctly, but 25th imho should be the day everyone should have their orders in, incase there's issues

If an america hub is needed I can, I planned on ordering at least sixty bucks worth
Waiting to see how big check is :)
