Dice Quartermaster
|
I recently came across the old interest thread for the planned second dice order and found myself immediately in awe; "OMG, skaven dice!". Alas the order never went ahead and I was more than a little disappointed. That was when I thought, "I could do that..." and got in contact with the rats in the know. After much discussion and anxious waiting on my part I got the drafts for the current dice a day or two ago (I have been unwell so it is all sort of blurring together at the moment). At this stage what I am looking for is a show of interest in these designs and some idea of numbers when they go to order. First though let me say that I decided to run this order because: 1) skaven dice are awesome and who wouldn't want some? 2) It seemed that no one else had stepped up to the plate and 3) even though I am a relatively new member I have greatly enjoyed my time as a member of UE and wanted to do something for everyone else here. I would like to make clear though that I personally am running this order and that the council is not involved in any way. Below are the current designs for the planned dice order (compliments of Scrivener) D6 with one custom side (6th side): ![]() D6 with 6 custom sides: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Artillery dice with 6 custom sides: ![]() Finally, what we have all been waiting for; Scatter dice with 6 custom sides: ![]() I am sure you will all agree that they look amazing and as previously mentioned, who wouldn't want some? To save some questions down the track I can already tell you that these will NOT be available in smaller than 16mm dice and price is based on the number of custom sides so the first style should be the least expensive. More information as it comes to hand. If you are interested please advise approximate number and style of dice you are after and we can go from there. Ideally I will leave this up until the new year to gauge interest then get in contact with the suppliers to get the dice - I mean ball rolling. |

I love the D6 with 6 custom sides but the D6 with one custom side is pretty awesome as well. I would order 13 of them.

You might clarify what size the dice are, and i think that the '6' and '8' sides artillery die could use some modification (a bit hard to read). Quibbles aside, thanks for stepping up (a very unSkaven trait!). I'll order 20 of the d6 with one custom side, and 6 each of the artillery and scatter dice. |

I love 'em I would ask for whatever you think would qualify as a standard Gaming Set (1 artillery, 1 scatter, X D6 with custom sides) |

As I said their standard for custom pieces is 16mm so we can not go any smaller and this will likely be the size we end up ordering for all 4 styles. The IoB set comes with 1 artillery, 1 scatter and 10 D6. To increase the skaven factor we could say 1 artillery, 1 scatter and 13 D6? That being said 13 D6 is not many so the other quantity I was leaning toward was 1, 1 and 25 (27 total) which means they would fit nicely into a dice cube. I will see what the supplier can do for us. I would very much be getting the scatter and artillery dice (not that I don't want the standard dice, I already got them during the previous order). I'd probably get 3 each (we may not get the chance to do this again so might as well get extras). Also, sometime back Ratmaster Rex went and did the custom artillery dice on his own using the earlier draft, here it is for reference (I've tweaked the zapped rat since). I'll have another go at the 6 and the 8. |

These are excellent. These are really excellent! I think I would quite like to get my ratty paws on some of these. I hang around this site a lot, may as well get mysel' a little physical memento of it. Cyberspace is brilliant but this is something tangible.I'd probably go with 1 scatter, 1 artillery and 11 of the single custom sides. 11+1+1=13. ![]() I have a friend who collects dice though so I might see does she want some too though... Do we have any idea of costliness yet? |

It is of course fine if you want to make friends aware of this but please DO NOT post anything outside of UE about them. This is in an effort to not tick off GW in any way. In terms of cost; a very early estimate puts them anywhere from $2 to $6 per dice for 6 custom sides. This price changes with quantity ordered as well as colour combinations selected so it is a bit early to tell. Give me a week or so to make sure that any lack of interest in this does not make it doomed from the get go then I can confirm some more details. |

Don't think I'd have a use for more than 2 scatter and 2 artillery dice. On the other hand, I'd love a bunch of normal D6's.. preferably those with only one side 'mutated', in order to keep costs down and as they are a bit easier to read when rolled in large numbers. Say about 25. Perhaps 5 or so of the others for characters. |

Hmm, if they are that pricey I will go with an order of the 'normal' D6 with one custom side. Still want 13 of them though.

No worries. I literally just emailed her the link and if she's interested then I'd just include what she wants as part of my order. |

Those dice are great! I would be interested in 25 - 30 of the d6 dice depending on price and the multiples needed in ordering, and 3 each of the Scatter and Artillery. - Larry |
