I've always thought this one was clever, though I've taken it out of the rhyming version which is a little more catchy... A man, his sister, his friend, and his friend's wife sat down to a vast dinner. All of them were great gluttons, who would rather fight over the tiniest crumb than let anyone have a greater portion. Dessert was served -- three identical, uncut pies. On account of the disgusting manners of the diners, there was not a utensil at the table, yet without rising from their places the lot were quite capable of having the equal shares they demanded. How? |

I have one. ![]() Why is a Raven like a Writing Desk? Just kidding. Here's a small one. I am so fragile that even saying my name would break me. What am I? And a bigger one if you want to try it: The beginning of eternity, the end of time and space. The beginning of every end, and the end of every place. Edited by ShuNian, 9th November 2011 - 01:14 AM.

I believe that in the "prison" riddle, the two guards are only allowed to answer the question with "yes" or "no". As to Einsteins riddle: (The Horned One be damned, i have to translate this, dont i?) Einsteins raadsel There are 5 houses in 5 different clours. In every house someone with a different nationality lives. Those 5 persons each drink something different, all smoke a different kind of sigars and each have a different house pet. One of them has a fish. the question is...Who owns the fish? Here are some clues: The Brit lives in a red house The swedish person has dogs as pets. The danish one drinks tea The green house stands next to and at the left of the white house. The owner of the green house drinks coffee the man who smokes Pall Mall loves birds. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill. The man living in the middle house dinks milk. The norvegian fellow lives in the first house. The man smoking Blends, lives next to the one who has cats. The man owning a horse, lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill. The person who smokes Blue master, drinks beer. The german guy smokes Prince. The norvegian guy lives next to the blue house. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour that drinks water. (I should get a reward for posting this riddle and translating it ! ) I have an old one for those of you who like more logical riddles. Its an easy one, even my school kids can solve it. So even you might be able to do so as well: Two fathers and two sons go fishing. Each of them catches 1 fish. They take the fish back home to prepare it for lunch. When the fishes are prepared, there are 3 of them in the pan. Yet, each father and each son gets 1 fish. How is this possible? And then one more for those of you who are old fashioned in their thinking: A father and a son are driving their car, when they are suddenly involved in a terrible accident. The father dies of his injuries , while the fire men are trying to free him. But the son survives and is brought to the hospital where he needs immediate surgery. Arriving at the hospital the doctor takes a look at the son and say "I cant operate him. He's my son". How is this possible? And then one more for those of you who hate thinking outside the box (Yes...I mean you Mathusala0 ! ) There are 9 dots. They are set up like this: OOO OOO OOO It is possible to use 4 straight lines to cut through each hole without lifting your pen. Have fun |

there are only 3 people, the son, father, and grand father.
The father and driving are not in the same car. so the father is not the father of the son.
I resent that! (ill pm you what I pmed the other guy if you wish XD ) And I wont post the answer (kinda hard too) but I will say that thinking "outside the box" has literal meaning for this puzzle. |
