Okay, so I'm going to a 1500 tournament in the new year, and I'd like to get my army list sorted way before then. Nothing is set in stone and I have a massive collection of models, so I can field pretty much anything, so don't be afraid to suggest changes such as swapping one unit for a completely different one. I'll explain tactics etc. after I've posted the list. Heroes Plague Priest (General) -Lvl 2 -(Additional) Hand Weapon -Poisoned Attacks -Dispel Scroll Warlock Engineer -Lvl 1 -Warp-energy Condenser Chieftain -Battle Standard -Dawn-stone -Enchanted Shield Core x29 Clanrats -Shields -Full Command -Poisoned Wind Mortar x29 Stormvermin -Shields -Full Command -Banner of Eternal Flame x39 Skaven Slaves x39 Skaven Slaves Special x29 Plaguemonks -Full Command -Plague Banner Rare Doomwheel Warp Lightning Cannon Total = 1498.5 The basic idea is that the Chieftain goes with the Stormvermin, the Engineer with the Clanrats and the Priest with the Monks. The Slaves are there to soak up casualties' early one, and dive into anything which I consider to be an exceptional threat (only for my other units to dive into the flank or side on later on in the game). The Storvermin have the banner which gives them flaming attacks so they can handle anything with regeneration and the Monks will be my main unit for dealing with anything which has a high toughness (the banner will allow them to re-roll to wounds, and with the high amount of attacks the unit can put out, I hopefully should roll enough 6's) I'd really appreciate any help and advice, Thanks

in 1500 points your cheiftain might be able to roll in the stormvermin, but personally id still bunker him up into a unit behind your lones. its not a bad list for the most part, i do think you could get a better general but meh. |

Be carefull with spellcasting ... if the unit containing a spellcaster is in close combat, it can not cast missile spells anymore. I personally think that you should strip the plague priest a little (not the additional hand weapon for example, and not the poisoned attack either), then nibble a bit at the chieftains points. If all goes well, you should be able to switch the chieftain for a warlord. One extra attack and a slightly higher Ld. And for the rest... well, it looks like a good list to me. Plenty of magic, plenty of shooting, plenty of close combat. You cant loose. |

I think I have a solution; I've dropped a clanrat, the hand weapon and poisoned attacks, the dawnstone (moved the enchanted shield to the Warlord), the poison wind mortar and 3 stormvermin and added a Warlord with an additional hand weapon and a war-litter (hence the 3 dropped stormvermin, he now fits nicely in the unit (see this conversion)) and an enchanted shield (which with the war-litter and the enchanted shield will give him a 2+ save) and for what's worth, I had the points to add another 2 skaven slaves. Here's the new list... Lords Warlord -Additional Hand Weapon -War-litter -Enchanted Shield Heroes Plague Priest (General) -Lvl 2 -Dispel Scroll Warlock Engineer -Lvl 1 -Warp-energy Condenser Chieftain -Battle Standard Core x28 Clanrats -Shields -Full Command -Poisoned Wind Mortar x26 Stormvermin -Shields -Full Command -Banner of Eternal Flame x40 Skaven Slaves x40 Skaven Slaves Special x29 Plaguemonks -Full Command -Plague Banner Rare Doomwheel Warp Lightning Cannon Total = 1498.5 Now I have a general which should be pretty well protected, and at the front of my lines. The Engineer and the BSB will 'hide' in the clan rat unit; they should be pretty well protected, which is why I've chosen to go for a pretty naked BSB it was either that or a naked general, and the loss of my general I think will have a greater impact than the loss of my BSB. Again, I'd really appreciate any further advice (as I can easily drop things to make room for more stuff!), thanks guys!

you are correct in assuming loss of general will be worse (slaves rerolable 5 is not as good as slaves one roll of 10) your going to have to look out for death magic but otherwise this should do fine. |

The only change I'm going to make is to swap the additional hand weapon on the Warlord for a shield on the BSB, just for a little more protection. |
