So this is my first One Thousand point list for a campaign that will start in January at my local shop. The list is the begining of a themed list that as I expand in points I hope will translate more into the list. Without further adieu here is clan Rechik. Warlord Scraf Nine-Lives -Warlitter -Shield -Warpstone Armor -Dawnstone -Sword of Might 203 Pts Chieftain Greskit Longtail -Battle Standard -Shield -Warplock Pistol -Dragonhelm 90 Pts Warlock Engineer Nakk Oneye -Level 1 -Warpmusket -Warp-Energy Condenser 100 pts 50x Skaven Slaves - Beast Fodder -Spears -Musician 127 Pts 41x Clan Rats - Beast Herders -Spears -Full Command 204.5 Pts 38x Clan Rats - Graf's Beast Carvers -Shields -Full Command -Warpfire Thrower Attached 261 Pts The basic idea is that the Warlord goes in the 38 Rat block (bulking it to 42 in a 6x7 formation) and adds punch to a fairly anvil unit. The Cheiftain goes in the second clan rat unit (bulking it to 42 in the same fashion) and acts as a flanking element to the first clan rat unit. Finally the slaves act as a basic tarpit and should pump out the odd wound with 40 attacks. Not sure who the engineer is going to hang out with yet. As a quick aside regarding the theme - Clan Rechik is a Warlord clan who catche beasts and harvest new parts for Clan Moulder. Graf's Beast Carvers are all modelled with axe type weapons and I've modelled up unit fillers of carts with salts, cages, and other traps as well as giving some of the models nets and flaming brands. |

I would like to see some conversions then ![]() Well there seems nothing wrong with your list methinks. But waarlock pistols and warpmuskets are useless aditions. I would get +4 slaves (or more) and maybe poisonous attacks instead. |
FOR THE GLORY OF THE HORNED RAT OF COURSE!

I'm thinking of atleast dropping the Warpmusket for another Warplock Pistol. All the units currently need to be mobile. I agree that from a competitive stand point they don't do much but I figure if you're a HSIC (Head Skaven in Charge) and you're hunting monsters having a pistol may come in quite handy. Obviously this is from a theme stand point, on a pure nuts and bolts level you're right. I do think I'll atleast add poision to the Cheiftain (makes sense for killing big critters and all).

I think you re on clan moulders payroll for hunting big nasty monsters they can convert. I may add a little personal advice. It has nothing to do with tactics however. Just a personal point of view into catching big nasty gritters. I have personal experience in the matter (having seen King Kong both in black and white AND in colour, as well as Godzilla and well...my ex girlfriend was also kind of scary sometimes...) First of all, the big boss is the one standing way in the back yelling "throw those nets !" . So for someone who has only one line of dialogue in the entire setup... i find your warlord highly overarmed. Second of all...your warlock engineer is pretty much the only one who knows what buttons to push when it comes to dealing with complicated devices (like scissors and such). So you may want a second warlock ? You know...just in case the get-away car doesnt start of immediatly. And on a final note... All your commanders will be busy trying to catch a big monster (maybe even a dragon... ) .While we all know how difficult it is to keep our clanrats in check...we also know that its almost impossible to keep an eye out on our slaves at those stressy points. Personally, i think a few slaves, tied against a heavy pole in the middle of the trap are very usefull... but for the rest they ll only be running around crying "dont kill me" at us while the danger comes from the other side (aka...the dragon). Oh and one more things we have all learned from the movies (except you, so it seems)... that muskets NEVER EVER work when they have to. (Indiana Jones, The longest Day, Jurrassic park, ...) So really...why bother bringing one along ??? P.S. If you want to catch the REALLY big monsters...you will need a good looking blond woman who can produce a large quantity of decibels when needed (something like a screaming bell but with boo...bs) I hereby also refer to movies as King Kong, Jurrassic Park, Dracula (Bram Stokers) , Tarzan (the original black and white version...) , Crocodile Dundee, Jaws and of course... Shrek. |
