In reference to this thread http://s6.zetaboards.com/The_UnderEmpire/topic/8775216/1/ I've put together this list. Any constructive crit is welcome! Lords - 510 Grey Seer + Talisman of Preservation + Dispell Scroll + Screaming Bell - 510 Heroes - 280 BSB + Storm Banner - 120 Warlock + Brass Orb - 65 Warlock lv 1 + Shadow Trinket - 95 (to join the Plague Monks) Core - 678 x30 Clanrats + std + mus - 132 x30 Clanrats + std + mus - 132 x20 Clanrats - 80 (Screaming Bell unit) Warpfire Thrower - 70 Warpfire Thrower - 70 Warpfire Thrower - 70 x8 Night Runners + 8 slings - 62 x8 Night Runners + 8 slings - 62 Special - 416 x8 Gutter Runners + poisoned attacks - 136 x40 Monks - 280 Rare - 615 x2 Cannons - 180 Hellpit Abom - 235 x2 Catapults - 200 TOTAL: 2499 Not too sure about a strategy yet. The BSB hides behind stuff and gives off his reroll bonus + Storm Banner effect. The Bell is protected by the two slave units to prevent direct cannon fire wiping the bell out first turn. The warlock with the trinket joins the monks to compound the Storm Banner effect which should allow the monks to smash into something eventually. The monks themselves will handle one flank while the hellpit covers the other. The brass orb Warlock will join one of the clanrat units. Alone he gets shot to pieces (although the prospect of the enemy having to use an entire unit just to down him is tempting). The two combat clanrat units will deploy on each side of the slaves, they will attempt to get in flank charges against units already in CC with slaves. Warpfire throwers will attempt to use their LOS bonus rule for as long as possible, only moving away from parent units if absolutely necessary. The slaves should help nicely in this regard. Cannons will be given a clear line of site from the get go to blow expensive enemy stuff up. It's a risk considering an enemy with their own cannons can do the same if they get first turn, but at 90 points and the damage a LC can deliver it seems a waste to do anything else with them. The Night Runners (as suggest in the other thread) will march ahead of the hellpit and monks on either flank. While they might pull off something cool considering the slings give them multishot, their primary role is to force the enemy to choose between a constant harassement from slings or something further away. Same thing for the Gutter Runners and their poisoned throwing stars. Does he turn around and do something about them or not. Some Questions About Rules I'm Unsure of 1: Regarding slaves, can I still fire into an enemy unit engaged in CC with slaves if I can't see the enemy unit, only the slaves? 2: How exactly do you work out ranks for stuff like a bell? If for example I have two columns of 5 clanrats on each side (in other words, 2 rats, bell, 2 rats), does each of those 4 rats plus bell count as 1 rank? 3: Do the penalties for firing over half distance also apply to thrown shots? |

http://s6.zetaboards.com/The_UnderEmpire/topic/8775420/1/ Its so awesome I can just post that now. But a few things to add. question answers 1) no 2) the bell displaces 3 models, so a full rank of 5 is, (1 rat, bell, 1 rat) 3) yes list coments. your units are to small, no wonder your having problems from lead belchers. your list doesnt apear to have any slaves? you mention them a lot in your comments but they arnt in the list. night runners arnt worth it, a good ogre player will simply ignore them. give the bsb a shield/. drop catapults (they are not effective against ogres) take a doomwheel. id consider dropping the warpfire thrower and investing in a furnace. your screaming bell is gonna stop moving very quickly, it also serves little purpose in your list as you dont have enough units to make use of its randomness and 18" bubble. |

+1 to Math's comment. Your Night Runner regiments have to be 10+ too. |

I'd say drop the catapults; they're only going to be wounding the Ogres on 6's (not enough damage out put to marit the cost), there are much better options to be taken. With the freed up points you should invest in Slaves. I agree with the above posters that your unit sizes are too small. Clanrats will function better when closer or above 30. --Cap |

Aaaah CRAP. I clicked on REPORT instead of REPLY and just sent off a report filled with my reply. I am so in the mods stupid box ![]() It happens to more members than you might suspect, don't worry about it - MatikRegarding the missing slaves and incorrect Night Runner numbers, will fix those, not sure how I blooped that up. Also, one more question here: The BRB states that weapons with multishot should have the number of shots in their description. But looking at the sling description you only get its strength, distance and and a 2 in brackets. But the 2 stands for multiwounds, as described under multiwounds in BRB where is says to look for the number in brackets to indicate the multi wounds a single unsaved wound from a multishot weapon causes. So how many shots does a sling make then? D3? D6? And where do you get this info from? Did I just read it wrong or? EDIT: BTW, thanks for all the other advice folks, will take it into consideration and come up with a revised list. How do you feel about the warlocks, their items and the units I plan to attach them to though? Good/bad? Edited by Warlock Matik, 26th October 2011 - 06:23 PM.

you check the brackets if the model has the multi wound rule which it doesnt (holy crap slings would be INSANE if they had multi wound 2) as it is the braket is the multi shot 2 |

the grey seer does not need a talismon, he already has a 4+ ward save from the bell. the unit pushing the bell is to small, the unit itself will be killed and the bell will be stranded. hell the grey seers miscasts and the bells rings may in fact strand it on its own without the ogre player needing to do anything. |
