Alright I need some quick advice. My VC friend will run the General and BsB because we are suspecting they will take death magic to snipe the Seer if we use him as a General. lvl 4 Grey Seer, screaming bell, dispell scroll, skalm (health potion) , 3x warpstone token = 540 lvl 1 plague priest, furnace, other tricksters shard (seems handy because of the big amount of models in contact with the furnace) foul pendant (5+ wardsave) flail = 299 lvl 2 warlock engineer, doomrocket, condenser = 150 2x warplightning cannon = 180 1x doomwheel = 150 42 monks full command, banner of the underempire = 344 (not sure about this banner vs the combo Chaos/DE but not much else to take save for the armour piercing one) 49 clanrats musician en standard = 232,5 1x poison wind mortar = 65 40 clanrats full command = 200 1x poison wind mortar = 65 54 slaves, shields, musician 137 54 slaves, shields musician 137 We will try the tactic of point denial. Our basic strategy will be using the magic phase to give small buffs and/or one big spell like plague with half our dice and using the rest to replenish the VC's main units: Crypt Ghouls and Grave Guards. The Warplightning Cannons, Doomwheel, Furnace, Weaponteams Vargulf and maybe the Black Coach will try to eliminate as many expensive units as possible (think Hydra's, Skilla, Daemon Prince, etc) Our main troops will stay in Castleformation to keep our losses at a minimum. This is my basic list which should work fairly well with the right support from the VC. I have 3 alternatives to this list. Alternative 1: No weaponteams drop 8 slaves totaal and add a second doomwheel Alternative 2: drop 4 slaves and take 2 warpfire throwers instead of poison wind mortars Alternative 3: No weaponteams, drop 40 clanrats add 2x 5 gutter runners If you consider this strategy what will do us more good: The Weaponteams an extra Doomwheel or the Gutter Runners? Mutate: I could also find points to make 3x 40 slaves instead of 2x 54 slaves would that be better you think? Edited by Skrits, 19th October 2011 - 03:28 PM.

even 10 fully decked out gutter runners should not cost that many points. as i see it i think this list should do fine. stay on the defense, for your doomwheel to prevent it running off, have it ram your own slaves untill you need it. sure you'll lose some slaves but thats in the job description. |

I meant keep the weaponteams haha 40 clanrats with full command is 200 points 10 gutter runners with poisoned slings = 180 points so it's pretty close I'd say. So you think the 2 weaponteams will be better then a second Doomwheel? I really can't decide The bolts of lightning could be very very good against Multiwound models like hydra's... well if you know 100% hes running 2 hydras id say go for it. otherwise 2 mortars will do heavy damage to all dark elf units and decent damage to chaos units. (always wounding on 5s rocks) |

I know 200% he will run 2 hydra's. He has 3 of them at home and uses them every chance he gets since they always turn out to be his MVP's. Also do you think 3x 40 slaves is better then 2x 54? |

then do the doomwheel swap, and no, i think the 54 blocks are fine, you've already got an unbreakable furnace to the front of the bell, so long as your slaves are on your flanks (and therefor able to reform to not present flanks) you should be fine. |
