Hereīs a tourney list for future games.

Itīs one of my first lists and I havent had any chance to playtest it. Im really in doubt about how many clanrats/slaves are good. I would like to hit the magic number, but seems people have different opinions on how many to deploy.

Im unsure about the rat ogres too.. I would love to convert/sculp some nice rat ogres, but im really not sure they are worth their points.. Also, the magic phase scares me a little! A level 2 alone, seems as a risky choice.
I considered giving the plague monks, the plague banner too..

Also the weapon teams? Are the posioned mortars any good?

Here is the revisited list, with a lot of modifications :)

Well, here goes:

* Lords (243pts)

Flail for the Plague Priest! For a mere 4 points, it's too good to pass up.

I consider the Plague Banner to be of utmost importance to the Plague monks. If your opponent manages to get a t4/armored unit in front of your monks, the banner might just give you that little edge to win the combat and run them down.

4 Rat Ogres won't do much good. You could get Gutter Runners or more Plague Monks in their stead.

Mutate: Plague Mortars are good because of their special sight rules and in that they can move and fire.
The ratling gun is not the monster it used to be, but i still think it can be utilized to kill cheap drops like Chaos Warhounds that would otherwise harass your warmachines.

You list seems pretty apropiate, but i think you'll need some stormvermin or more plaguemonks, that would be personal prefereance......
Another thing that you're list lacks is a grey seer, i would refere them above warlords, almost every army needs a lv.4 wizard nowadays.

Yeah, the lvl 4 problem really sucks! I really dont want a greyseer, even though most ppl nowadays use a lv 4..

So - what to do? - Well, i gave the priest, staff of sorcery and added a lv 1 warlock engineer, with DS. This should improve my chances in the magic phase.

I also removed the ratogres and added an extra warplightning cannon. I decreased a clanrat unit, and increased the plague monks a little... Also i had to remove some slaves, to give my warlord the warlock augmented weapon.

I think this is a pretty solid list now - of course, you guys are still more than welcome to throw critique at it..

Warlock-Aug-Weapon, i feel, is too expensive for what it does. I'd rather have an Ogre blade over it and get a nice +2str. Thats because t4 is the most common toughness value you will see on the board, and Str 6 allows you to wound t4 models on 2+.

If you take the furnace you should really drop the plague banner. You miss alot of attacks that can be rerolled because of the space the furnace uses up. Best banner to use in my experience is banner of the underempire.

2D6 strength 2 attacks at the start of EACH combat phase against EVERY unit in basecontact with the plaguemonk unit is HUGE for combat result. You will be surprised how often those measly str 2 attacks make the difference in winning or losing the combat.
Yesterday I rolled 7 about everytime and one time an 11. Because the attacks come before the first attack made in combat it works both offensively and defensively. The banner alone killed 7 out of 21 phoenixguards + a vargulf over 3 rounds of combat. I doubt I would have gotten the same result from the plaguebanner and even if I did it would have been used up after that, while mine kept dishing out dmg in the next combats.

I love the Under-empire banner myself, but just because the Furnace occupies space doesn't mean it's rendered completely useless. I consider both banners(plus the triple march banner) viable for monks.

I prefer Plague banner more because with B.w.Filth it sets up a mean combo. You just have to use it when the unit you are fighting has a large frontage, so you will actually see monks fighting. The Furnace should be fighting hordes anyway, because i think that is what Furnacebus does best.

I can recall it saving my furnace unit from losing combat againts a 40-strong Saurus unit. The turn I used the banner they were reduced to 22 models and ran away thanks to the explosive combat resolution.

All in all both banners are good, i'd say
