This wednesday we will have an epic 5 player battle royal

1v1v1v1v1

I'm thinking of fielding the following

Grey Seer, buttnaked 240
Warlord, dawnstone, shield, Scrying stone, General 133 (you get 1 victorypoint for slaying someones general so I need a decent one, 4+ rerollable armour save, 3+ ward save against the first wound and 6+ wardsave seems a good deal for so little points)

Plague Priest, lvl 1, furnace, flail 254
Engineer Skavenbrew 65 (wanna test him out and give a big SURPRISE to my opponents who don't know it exists)

40 Monks Full command, Banner of the under empire

40 Clanrats Full command 200
50 Slaves, shields Musician 127
50 Slaves, shields Musician 127

Which leaves me with 24 points (or 74 points if I decide to drop the shields on the slaves). I could either take a Rat Dart to protect my Clanrats flank for a round against a charge from VC's Ghosts, Chaos Skilla, Dark Elf Hydra's or High Elves Eagles
A better option would probably be the Shadowmagnet Trinket for the Plague Priest.

The idea to win with this one is building a small castle formation to hold 2 objectives while trying to get Plague and or Cloud of Corruption in combination with Skitterleap for my Grey Seer to Absolutely decimate the enemy's units (jumping in the middle of a huge combat in the middle and getting cloud of corruption or maybe even Vermintide off could be AWESOME) I could also give the scrying stone to my Seer, It leaves my general a bit unprotected though.

Will be weird to play without my warmachines but I need the numbers and unbreakable units in this scenario.

(Mutate: if people think that skavenbrew is not worth it at this pointlevel I could ofcourse also take a doomwheel by dropping the shield from the slaves and scraping together 11 points, the 3d6 movement could be nice to get to an objective fast)

the problem is that the brew has to go with the clanrats which is where the warlord is bunkered up. personally id drop him and pick p an all imprtant bsb (making your leadership 10 all the more harder to break)

otherwise, deploy clanrats in center horde, slaves flanking in steadfast, plague monks in horde in front, should provide good solid walls and the plague monks and grey seer offer some good killing power.

What formation will you be playing? Do you all pick a centerpoint and deploy at a certain distance from it?
Please take pics of the table , once it is all set up. Might be interesting.
From a psychological point of view... Dont brag too much when entering the table. Try to pretend to be a bit insecure. Ask someone of the opponents a little advice. Or ask him something like" what is that? And will it kill my ...fast?" Make them feel selfconfident.
A 5 player battle isnt won by mere tactics and luck. The big idea is to keep them killing eachother while you can stay in the back a little and can harnass your own army for as long as possible.
Help the armies that are closest to your side. It ll give them the feeling that you are actually helping them, which will let them decide to keep you next to their side for a while. Keep in mind that one move on your behalf will have consequences on other units as well.
And try to keep your army together.

and take a book or something. If each players turn will take him about 15 minutes...you ll be in on a 7 hours and 30 minutes game of 6 rounds.

Oeh you guys don't play battle royal much do you?

In battle royal all turns go at the same time. So player 1 does his moement then player 2 then 3 then 4 then 5, then magic phase we all have the same power and dispell dice from winds of magic and we cast a spell one after the other until we don't have dice left. Also the players I'm up against are my regular friends I play with every week. :) A game like this usually takes about 4-5 hours max.

The formation is played like this on a table 48" by 96":

________________________________________________________
|............................|..................................|..................................|
|.............1..............|.................5...............|..............2.................|
|............................|..................................|..................................|
|............................|..................................|..................................|
________________________________________________________
|............................|..................................|..................................|
|............................|..................................|..................................|
|............3..............|.................5................|..................4..............|
|............................|..................................|..................................|
________________________________________________________

The player that rolls lowest has to take the middle as in numbers 5 but has a twice as large deploymentzone. The other players all take a quadrant that is 24" by 32". We play with random terrain and on a table this size around 9-10 terrain pieces.

I'm not sure what formation I will play since terrain can really screw me over. The general idea is Monks in the front in horde clanrats right behind that in horde (2x horde next to eachother will be too hard to move when there is rivers mountains and buildings blocking you. With the slaves blocks on the flanks. So pretty much like Mathusala suggested. I'll take the BSB instead of the Engineer then. Any suggestions on what to do with the remaining 21 points? Should I get the Shadowmagnet trinket for my Priest?

We have to deploy our whole army one at a time guy with the highest roll goes last but can pick 1-4 last as well. The guy that rolls lowest has to go in the middle. We can keep as many units in reserve as we want, except the guy in the middle, he has to deploy first and use all his units so he is screwed :D

MUTATE: The guy that wins this one gets the first turn in our next campaign so that is quite an awesome advantage since it let's you challenge someone first

Grey Seer, buttnaked 240
Warlord, Dawnstone, shield, Dragon helm, General 128 (you get 1 victorypoint for slaying someones general so I need a decent one, 3+ rerollable armour save, and 6+ wardsave seems a good deal for so little points)

Plague Priest, lvl 1, furnace, flail 254
Chieftain BSB, Scrying Stone, Shield, Luck Stone 92

40 Monks Full command, Banner of the under empire 330

41 Clanrats Full command 204,5
49 Slaves, shields Musician 124,5
50 Slaves, shields Musician 127

1500 round seems like s solid list to have some enormous fun with :D
