Hello my filthy brethren I´m making a list to play in my gaming group, usually I face lots of ogres and TK and some demon and warriors of chaos.
So here is my first list I made as a Skaven player.

6 gutter runners ;Slings; Poisoned attacks 108 Pts

Level 1 Warlock engineer: Doomrocket; Warp-energy condenser 115 Pts

Warp-Lightning cannon 90 Pts

DoomWheel 150 Pts

39 Clanrats: Shields; Standard bearer; Poisoned wind mortar 252.5 Pts

3 Rat Ogres: Packmaster 128 Pts

14 Plague monks: Full Command; Plague banner

Total 996.5 Pts

That´s my list, so what do you think do I have a what so competitive list, if you give me any advice please leave warp-lightning and the Doomwheel
because I love the way they play otherwise you can change anything I´ll buy the model.

Please ignore that post........ It truly makes no sense at all.

I would try to squeese in a musician for the clanrats, further, you're list is good. Doomwheels are awesome, especially at 1000 points.

Deploy the Plague monks 5 wide, but the unit seems rather small......

FOR THE GLORY OF THE HORNED RAT OF COURSE!

It's not 30 Plague monks is bad advise. In fact your 14 monks is a very small unit. Low ranks will result in lower leadership because you won't get much out of your Strenght in Numbers rule. I advise you run them at 20 minimum.

Should you run 30 plague monks though, Horde formation is not really advisable for 30 monks. All the opponent has to do is to throw one template/magicmissile to hamper your Horde bonus, and once again, your rank bonus will be limited. Most people run monks 5xN or 6xN.

Now if you get a Plague Furnace, things change, because then with only 30 monks you can have both ranks and the Horde bonuses if you deplay 7xN plus the Furnace, thanks to the Furnace's rule.

Ok the models I have is following two sets of IOB (80 Clanrats, 2 warlock engineers, 2 master moulders/packmasters, 2 warlords, 4 rat ogres)
then I have 1 warp lightning cannon, 1 doomwheel, 20 plague monks, 20 night runners that i run as gutter runners.
Could you recommend something like my army but a little better with those models or what do I need to add for 1000 pts?

Dropping the rat ogres can give you points for a 40-man slave unit with shields(As previously said, use your clanrat models). You can then use the leftover points to up your monk unit to 20 if i am not mistaken. Then your list will have enough bodies.

You will get an average of 7 dice for your wind of magic. With only 1 spell, thats kind of leaving a lot of opportunity for the grabbing.
My advice would be to cut down on the Rat ogres and either deploy another Warlock engineer or make your warlock engineer level two. You should at least be able to cast two spells. (if you get two warlock engineers , then you could cast warp lightning twice for example. They wont be able to counter both with their mage. In 1000 point games, not many will take a lvl 3 or 4 wizard in play. )

Rat Ogres are fun to watch. But they arent a very usefull unit. I have the same issue as you do. I love fielding them, but honestly they arent worth the points. (Allthough... 4 attacks for each front char, 3 attacks for each char on the second rank and 1 attack for each packmaster, an additional stomp attack at the end for each front monster, pretty high initiative...that makes for about 22 attacks. )

Take one of your Packmasters and tell your opponent that it is a plague priest or a warlock engineer.

Also, you rely too heavily on your cannon and doomwheel. Leave one of them at home. As someone already mentioned, we get our strength through numbers. Not by cheer brutal force. We are rats. WE overwhelm our opponents. We swarm the field, we gather and destroy we gnaw away every single bit of flesh we.... (you get the drift, dont you?) MORE RATS !

You only got one large unit that will be able to last more then one round of close combat. So basically all your opponent has to do is trying to stay away from that large unit for some rounds, close in on all your other units and slash them down. Then turn all his troops toward your large unit and ... well, just imagine a tomato on the floor after an entire subwaystation of people ran over it. You re the tomato.

I can see the reasoning in this.If one of them has to be ditched it should be the cannon. In 1000 points the Doomwheel's very durable, will face less shooting, and needs less babysitting.

I also agree on the scarcity of the magic department. I would say leave the Warlock at level 1 and get a Plague priest if possible. Even if you roll a Plague spell you don't want you can get Pestilent Breath which complements well with Warp Lightning. One hits like a truck but can hit up to 6, while the other doesn't hit for much but can hit a lot of units at once.

Even as an added bonus, unlike the Warlock, the Priest is very durable(For Skaven anyway) and is a competent figther.

I have now taken in all the great feedback from this wonderful community and made a now list. Sorry Borgomos but a plague priest was out of my budget.

------------------
Core

40 Clanrat slaves: Full Command; spears; shields 126 Pts

40 Clanrat slaves: Full Command; spears; shields 126 Pts

252 Pts in Core that´s why I tweaked them out
-------------------
Special

20 Plague monks: Full command; Plague banner 195 Pts

6 Gutter runners: Slings; Poisoned attacks 108 Pts

303 Pts
-------------------
Rare

Doomwheel 150 Pts

Warp-lightning cannon 90 Pts

240 Pts
-------------------
Heroes

Level 1 Warlock Engineer: Doomrocket; Warp-energy conductor 115 Pts

Level 1 Warlock Engineer: Dispel scroll 90 Pts

205 Pts
-----------------

Total 1000 Pts

I´m sorry I did not take all your great advice but this is what it got down to. Because I´m going to be that guy that always brings a
Doomwheel and a warp-lightning cannon because this games is played to have fun and win but mainly have fun, those two units
can just make your day when they go crazy. :P If the setup of the two units does not work I´ll back them work is what I´m thinking.
Now I got more numbers in my army to so I hope this works great. :swarm: :swarm: :swarm: :swarm: ;)

But great feedback from a great community I have to say.

Id drop the spears on the clanrats, but at this points level they may actually be worth it.

(In case you re missing it...this is an evil cynical , sarcastic laugh! )

Hate to be the one to break it to you (not really , since i m the one who told you to leave either doomwheel or cannon at home), but the armybook says you can only take 25% of rare units. And you re at 30.3% .

You're reading his list the wrong way.

150 + 90 = 240pts = 24%.

Have another look at the list.
