Hail to all rodents and a special hello to you ! As a warlord I have earned my grounds during some vicious battles (remember the "lets kill my mother in Law " and " oh, there's only two of them and we re with 200! " ) My loyal clanrats have followed me (well...Actually they were running in front of me...but you get the drift...) in some various battles. (I got 80 of them) Now...Clan moulder has provided me with a few very good packmasters. Together they have been able to collect a nice army of 24 giant rats and 5 Rat ogres. I'm pretty sure they are usefull, but thats mainly because my packmasters keep telling me "they normally never do that..." Clan skryre...I'm not convinced. Look, I dont want to badmouth them, but really... is it normal that my warpfire throwers succeed in torching down my house during every single battle (even when we're 700 miles away from home...) . And am I wrong when i think that my PWM team drops those glass orbs on purpose? I mean really... how often can one use the word "oops" during a battle? I am however very satisfied with my Warlock engineer. You can tell the man has really done higher studies. (He keeps his books at the top shelf. Which looks rather impressive up to the point where he starts jumping up and down in a ridiculous attempt to actually be able to reach the top shelf. I already told him to get a small ladder , but he refuses to use any device that isnt activated by warpstone. So every time he needs one of his bookshe shoots down the bookshelf with a rattling gun. IKEA really really likes him...) My 20 plague monks are ...well... pfff... I dont know. Singing "cumbaya" and holding each others hand while marching to battle ... is that REALLY what all monks do? They also have a Union (yes... the Union obliges me to write the word Union with a capital. ) which looks down at me from every angle , commenting on about every single decision I make. Just this morning, a member of the Union was at my desk telling me that they decided it would be better to ask our enemies to use soft plastic weapons, in order not to hurt anyone and to not use shooting weapons , but instead use sticks and make "swoosh" and "ratatatata" sounds with it. I mean...sure...it sounds like a good idea... until the moment you get a lizard in front of you who goes "rashashashasha" and spits all over you... But hey...we get things killed (just this morning...two muskitos that we have been cornering in our toilet. ) so it works for us. But I feel that my army needs an upgrade. What I really want is a Hell Pit Abomination. Just something that I can put into the battlefield and then yell at my enemy "Say hello to my Little Friend (with an Italian accent and maybe with a sigar in my mouth). " So I'm gonna write a letter to clan moulder, as soon as I skinned one of my clanrats and made a parchment of it. I really dont want a Grey Seer (may the Horned Rat bless them all) in my army. I hate being outranked. I personally believe i lack fire power. And since my warlock engineer has 2 nephews about to graduate from BIATP- university*, which is a very highly ranked university , even to Clan Skryre standards (7 floors is pretty high , isnt it?) I was thinking of accepting them in my army. They would be lvl 1 mages , so warp lightning might wreck some havoc. I have also been thinking about the warp cannon. But its so... I dont know... reliable. I prefer the catapult for the simple reason that we then finally have a better excuse to save up our sh... . Everyone keeps saying how incredibly awesome the doomwheels are. But somehow it frightens me to have a weapon of mass destruction being driven around by someone else (and not by me). Since Clan moulder gives me discounts I am thinking about ordering some Rat Swarms. I dont like Gutter runners. Sorry...but they stink. The main problem is that my enemy tends to have lots and lots of fire power aimed directly at me . So I want to be able to counter that. I can afford about 500 extra points (have I mentioned already that i REALLY want a hell pit abomination? ) . So what should I take with the remaining 250 points. (BIATP : blow it all to pieces) |

Are you trying to build a competetive list? I noticed that slaves weren't metioned? I think you need to tone the "fluff" and just get to the point And yes HPA are AMAZING! |

Its simple really. I described my entire army. And i want to expand. So I 'm asking what might be a good purchase. I got 80 clanrats 20 plague monks 1 pwm 1 wft 23 giant rats 4 packmasters 5 rat ogres 1 warlock engineer 1 warlord (me :-D ) I want to expand an extra 500 points. Of which 250 will go to a hell pit abomination. And i'm wondering what more i should get for my remaining 250 points. |

What about a personal gaurd of stormvermin, or a expansion on the plague monks to make them more effective. (PM, you'll need 30 at least for 1 unit, you have 20 already so..... stormvermin are just awesome) what about...... 2 abominations! |
FOR THE GLORY OF THE HORNED RAT OF COURSE!

If it were me, id sell the ogres back to clan moulder. U wont get your warp tokens back, but u will get moulder credit. Then use those points to get slaves. 5 Rat Ogres is *** points. You could get 2 units of 50 slaves for that. Use those slaves as tarpits while your wft goes to town on the tarpitted units. |

I must agree, slaves make the battle so much better when you send them out playing their dreadful music, soaking up the enemy fire ~Haskquol |

Last time i gave one of my clanrats a note sheet, he thought he could eat the notes ... Really...they ring a bell and STILL they manage to play false... I like the idea of stormvermin. It would make me look nice , really. I think I'll go for those instead. I also know the rat ogres suck big time. (at least...thats what you all keep telling me...) , but they just look so incredible awesome. Every single time I play (played 4 times now :-D ) everyone immediatly starts trying to take out my Rat ogres , even to the point where they ignore every other bit of danger from my side. They re like "oh no, those look so big and strong and ... was that one flashing with his loincloth? I should kill them asap!" (It could of course be because of the way I tend to put them on the tabletop. I always put them on their tray under the table and then put them on the tabletop with a loud "HAHA ! BET YOU DIDNT SEE THAT ONE COMING, DID YA?" And then the entire store looks at me with a "oh my god, what incredibly splendid plan did he come up with?" , while my opponent starts rushing towards the "customers free look in example" of the Skaven army book, sweat on his brows and trembling pale fingers, trying to figure out just what makes my biggies so GOOD.) My plague monks are 20 large. If i"d buy stormvermin, i d get 20 of them as well, i believe. Does one need 30 of each? Or is that just a Gamesworld trick of letting you buy more boxes? I would use both as supports for my clanrats (40 of each). P.S. my plague monks have taken over a church and are now starting to dye their robes. For some reason they dont want anyone to enter the church until they are finished. But every time i mention the subject, they start giggling. Should I be worried? |

Clan Pestilens is funny like that. They always do crazy stuff. Once, for me, my pms all started giggling. And noboby knew what they were laughing about. Something about 'night-rush' gas. So, yes, be very afraid. And remember--the only clan you can trust is clan FirClaw. |

Personally I go with 25 stormvermin and that works pretty well. Never found myself thinking I should have brought more. I can't speak on the plague monks; never used them ( It's amazing, I know ). I also typically field a unit of three rat ogres as a flanker unit (they get hungry sometimes, the gluttons...). They've been impressive on a few occasions, but it's really more that you're fielding something the other guy can't ignore or else said rat ogres are going to be tearing through his flank. mmmm.... delicious flank! I decided to skip the idea of a HPA. I asked around and it turns out those monsters will cost you an arm and a leg on food. (both in reality and as a figure of speach). So i decided to buy myself a Rat Ogre Bonebreaker and 20 Storm vermins and another Warlock engineer. This way, i can die in style. |
