Is it just me, or is this place a bit empty at the moment?

... and still, there is plenty you could do.

There are RPGs taking place in the Roleplaying section, you could participate in the Painting Vows, the Skavenblight Gazette is always accepting new articles to publish, there are (offsite) campaigns with Skaven factions in them, you could always start a discussion (as this a... you know... forum, after all) and I could continue with many options.

Perhaps you don't see that much happening, but why would that stop you from being active on the forum?

I thought the same thing, but with new releases that came out for VC and with what are coming out for Ogres, a lot of members are probally elsehwere atm, either becuse they owned other armies who at the moment they feel like playing, or becuase they have intrest in starting them. There are also those who started collecting skaven and found they don't like them as much as they thought they would and/or don't post any more.

Playing skaven to minimize randomness is like going to prom with your sister, you can do it if you really want, but in the end everyone will still laugh even if you do get lucky.

I always take at least one Warpfire Thrower. You can't always rely on your opponent to do massive damage to your troops. Sometimes, you just have to do a job yourself.

You could always take a trawl through the hobby forum, post some of your painted minis and comment on someone else's.

You make a good point. I would argue that I have been very active (perhaps as i've seen it too active at times!) As Razuli mentioned the new VC stuff and Ogres certainly will draw people away. Also I see it likely that with the end of the summer holidays a good number of members are getting back into routine and not being as active.

Trying to not sound smarmy; I am paricipating in two RPGs, I have submitted an article and Seer Squeek question (whether they do get published or not! :P ) and am currently trying to fix my camera so that I can take some pictures. Though I do admit as you say that I could certainly do more. :)

I agree with your many points.

I just wish there was more game activity between the hours of 11pm and 1am (EST).
