So far I have casted this baby 3 times out of 2 games and thinking back not once has my enemy tried to dispell it.

So this got me wondering. Can this spell be dispelled or is it just tough luck for my opponent?

Yes it can be dispelled and it's fairly easy to dispel proportional to the amount of damage it does so it's generally recommended that one does dispel it.

It's cast at the beginning of the magic phase after dice are generated so unless you have masses of other power dice that you can get up to divilment with then it's generally recommended he throw one (two to be extra safe what with rolling less than a 3) dispel dice at it. Scorch can cause hideous damage and it's well worth dispelling when it's only Power Level 5.

Enjoy continuing to toast him if he keeps going the way he is. ^_^

Indeed, when the scorch spell is cast by the screaming bell it counts as a spell with power level 5.
Following the other rules for bound spells , except that no power dice are needed and the amount needed to dispell is 5.
