Hi all.. I was wondering about a rules clarification if possible.

Do the unit attachments, such as grinder, warpfire thrower and so on need a unit or can they be fielded on their own?

They can only be purchased with a unit. They cannot be purchased on their own.

The Great Bunny. Now with a mop. :)

Yobtar is correct. A weapon team has to be bought alongside a unit.

Weapon teams are upgrades for units, so without the unit you can't deploy a weapon team.

Parallel question -- does this mean that both a unit and its weapon team must be destroyed before either of them surrenders any Victory Points?

This is wrong. Victiory points are given when units are removed from play.

You will also note that the Skaven army books tells us that once deployed, a weapon team functions as its own unit in every way.

Correct, once deployed a weapon team counts as a seprerate unit. So Victory points are awarded for killing the weapon team AND the unit.

Someone this weekend was under the impression that the teams are only accounted for if you kill the unit they deploy with too.

What ARE we teaching our children in rat school?
