Having only played my first game recently, there is a decent bit about the game I am still in the dark about.

I have been curious as to who our best match-ups are, and also our worst.

Thanks

Worst army list ever:

100 015

50000 slaves split in 3 units.
warplock engineer.

(to make it good:

endless numbers: To much skaven won't flee UNBREAKABLE and IMMUNE TO SPYCH.)
FOR THE GLORY OF THE HORNED RAT OF COURSE!

OUr best match ups are against bad players and our worst match ups are against good players.

In all seriousness it depends on how you build your army, skaven are so varied that we can deal with just about anything assuming we brought the right tools to do so.

Playing skaven to minimize randomness is like going to prom with your sister, you can do it if you really want, but in the end everyone will still laugh even if you do get lucky.

I always take at least one Warpfire Thrower. You can't always rely on your opponent to do massive damage to your troops. Sometimes, you just have to do a job yourself.

A good Orc & Goblin player will run us very close. It's been some of my closes games.

My worst match up is the dark elves. Mainly because of repeter crossbows and extra spell of power. The game boils down to a race. If I catch the units I win. If they shoot me up, I lose.

Really? I've found O&G a favourable match-up for us, even when they use power units like Savage Orc/Night Goblin hordes.

The Plagueclaw, Plague Scroll, and Plague spell really shine against a NG deathstar, and can even hurt Orcs.

Their war machines aren't especially great, and aren't flaming, so our HPAs get a break (though that spell of itchiness is a big pain in the ass).

Rat Ogre units are quite good against O&G, giving you a chance to dust them off and get some use out of them.

I hate facing Dwarfs, and although I've never played against them, I imagine WoC would be a tough nut to crack as well.

The O&G armies i've fought have a tendency to bring along a hard hitting cc winning units like trolls or black orcs, but i find you can win by overrunning them with as many slaves, clanrats and warp lightning spells as possible.

Back when i was a dwarf player, i loved playing vs. skaven. Mind you i always carried a goblin hewer, 10 thunderers, and two runed bolt throwers. Those units can really thin out a horde before they come across the table top.....
The only skaven armies that gave me problems were heavy magic and skitterleap......

now that im going to try Skaven, i am not looking forward to a DE army for the same reason mentioned earlier - repeater bolt throwers

Favourite match up : A Chaos warrior army. There elite warriors tend to die rather quick and easy against our cannons, mortars, cloud of corruption, 13th spell. And we can tarpit them with slaves.

Least favourite matchup : I'd say High elves, just because of that book of hoeth!
