Armour is capped (sowwy cap ) at 1+ so you can have 0+ but it'll still fail on a 1....... sign we all say it

I don't get it how this thread took 2 pages. I think CapArm05 fully covered the issue. Even if he hadn't (which he did), what would a 0+ Armour Save mean? That now the WoC is what? Immortal? No! You don't become a God because a God favors you... A "1" is a fail. Always was, always will be...

There will come a day that vermin shall conquer all lesser races.... the only race that triumphs above all others... the only one that has the numbers to complete the quest.... the only ones that honor the one and only deity... hail hail hail to the Great Horned Rat! Let his power guide us and from evil protect us...

But as stated earlier, a 0+ Save still has an advantage over 1+ and 2+ saves becuase they can take up to a S 5 hit and still only fail armour rolls on a roll of 1+, so having a 0+ save isn't as redundant as it sounds.

Ok, again because some people appear to be skimming over my previous explanation of why a 0+ mattered..... There are benefits to having better than 2+ armor saves: Yes you always fail on a 1 whether you have a 0+ or a 2+. That's a given, but where the 1+ and 0+ become better is they can ignore more negative modifiers than a simple 2+ save can. Str 5 hitting (-2) a 2+ leaves the wearer with a 4+ save (now failing on 1's, 2's, 3's). Str 5 hitting (-2) a 1+ leaves the wearer with a 3+ save (now failing on 1's and 2's). Str 5 hitting (-2) a 0+ leaves the wearer with a 2+ save (still only failing on 1's) Notice the drastic survivability against armor modifiers? A 0+ save has to be hit with Str 6 (that's a negative 3) or more in order to actually reduce their survivability. That makes them incredibly tough to kill if your basic troops only have access to strength 5 or less attacks in close combat. A 0+ still fails on a 1, but it takes a hell of a lot more strength/modifiers in order to get them to fail on 2's, or 3's or 4's. MTTE: Again; Yes, a 0+ is possible to have, if your Armybook specifically says "so-and-so can gain a 0+ save" Reference the WOC Armybook book stating the Eye of the Gods can grant a 0+ and Page 11 of the 8th Edition Rule Book (stating if a rule disagrees with something published in an Armybook, the Armybook trumps it; in this case the 1+ armor cap) thus Warriors of Chaos who roll good on the Eye of the Gods can have a 0+ save. --Cap Edited by CapAmr05, 16th August 2011 - 12:48 PM.
