Everything changes, given time. Lives so furiously lived become meaningless as time stretches out and generations come and go while the world turns around them. Empires live and die as the people who birthed them change or vanish altogether. Step back far enough and these too become trivial as the world itself shifts like a slumbering beast, its surface slowly drifting across the ocean as the fire at its heart rumbles and growls. Yet all history was lived once, all wars and the end of all Empires fought by someone. Blood freely given in the vain hope of survival. For a people. For a Nation. For a way of life.

As the shock waves of the Estalian conflict begin to subside the Old World moves into an uncertain future. Malal has been unleashed and wars upon the Four. Chaos is held in check by this unholy struggle... for now. Rumours come from the Frozen North, whispers scarce believable. It is said that the Wastes are retreating, shrinking back as if in fear as nature seeks to reclaim what she has lost.

Norsca and Kislev mobilize, sleeping giants desperate to take advantage of this precious gift before it is too late. They must be swift, for others have heard the rumours and would claim this new frontier for their own. Dwarfs from the Sea Fortress of Barak Varr and men clad in the sinister garb of the Templars of Sigmar have sent ships into the North to investigate. As their fleets enter the Sea of Claws, Pirates lie in wait, eager to prey upon the new arrivals. Pirates and more.

Step forward far enough and it all becomes meaningless as mountains fall and seas rise to take their place, but here and now, as the North marches to war under a cold, uncaring sky, nothing could be more important.

Claws of the Sea is a small-scale naval campaign set six months prior to Animosity 6. Your actions in this campaign will shape the landscape of Animosity 6, and decide much for the openings days of that mighty conflict. More information coming shortly on the Animosity Forums.

The Great Bunny. Now with a mop. :)

The Skaven put in a great appearance in the last campaign and should do so again.

I'm already looking forward to this and I intend to press gang every rat I can into joining me in playing. :P *Crosses fingers in hope of us getting our own faction again*

If you can rustle up enough players you'll get one for sure. For the story I'd honestly love one, even if it's a smaller faction. Skaven and Skaven players provide such a unique and interesting angle to a plot, especially when most player tend to play 'good races', that I'll always do my best to give you guys a space of your own. Some of the stuff you guys came up with in A5 was fantastic ^_^ .

So there isn't already a glacier of Warpstone for us to fight for? :P

I'm already drafting every Skaven player I have on MSN and after I'm done there I'm going to PM everyone who was in the last one that I don't already know is playing. :P

That's when we get some details. Not many just a few.

The Animosity crew enjoy watching us beg them for more information as they release it little by little, week by week.

So prepare to find out some basics but details will be hidden from us so that big F can torture us a bit longer. :P

The New Lunar Republic!
I propose an alternate approach.

Everyone who is a Brony bands together to stake our own, Equestrian claim to the Warhammer World!

So the timer reached zero, what do we have in store for you?

Claws of the Sea will begin on Monday 22nd August. Registration begins Monday 15th August. At that time the General Forums and Faction signup thread will become visible, as will the background fluff for each of the six Factions and the Campaign Mechanics. Take your time deciding on a Faction and character. Read over the fluff and see which Faction appeals to you, as you won't be able to change once the campaign starts. Also take a bit of time to familiarize yourself with the mechanics, it will make your life much easier once the campaign starts.

Turns will last Four (4) days. There will be no 'update days'. That said it will take the GM team a little time to calculate the results and write the turn fluff, though we don't anticipate this taking more than 24 hours, and usually it will be faster.

We'll initially be capping Faction registration between 5 and 6. It's very likely we'll open them up again, but as always we prefer to keep things fair from the start and see how it develops.

Finally, a quick reminder that this is a mini campaign. These have less complex rules and generally involve less players than our large January Campaigns. They tend to be more free wheeling affairs, with a heavier emphasis on the players to drive the story. That said there's still plenty of depth, and as always if you can imagine it, chances are you can do it.

Please save any questions until after all the information has been released tomorrow, we have a fair bit to do!

Many thanks!

Greetz
In the Horned One we trust, all others we monitor.

Sounds promising, I'll definitely be giving it a go once my account registration goes through lol. I guess there's no real way of knowing until the details up, but are we going to try get a UE (or at least Skaven) faction going?

The Clan Fleet

Alliances in the Under Empire are tenuous, fleeting things at best. Nebulous pacts forgotten at a moments notice, or conveniently abandoned as though they never existed. Scheming and betrayal comes as naturally to the Skaven as breathing, and alliances last only until one side can gain more by betrayal than by upholding the pact. Each side maintains a mind-boggling array of spies, double and triple agents ferreting out deceit and treachery, and even the merest whisper of potential betrayal can trigger pre-emptive action. But then the Skaven would have it no other way!

Few know the true reach of the Under Empire and the sheer fathomless number of Skaven that burrow under the surface of the Old World. This is by design, for the Skaven guard their secrecy fiercely. But they are ever busy, in the darkness. Watching, waiting for their moment. Rumours have reached Skavenblight from the frozen North. It is said the Wastes recede, and this interests the Seers greatly. Is it an auspicious sign from the Great Horned Rat that the time of inheritance grows near? Or is it simply a clever ploy, a plot by the servants of the Ruinous Powers to draw the Skaven out to their destruction?

With one arm the Council sends an army, through the mountains, to claim the Wastes and its riches as their own. With another they dispatch a flotilla of ships, great trundling barges shuddering to the mournful atonal clanking of the Doombringers. But this is no ordinary Clan Fleet. For the first time in centuries Clans Skurvy and Skuttle sail side by side, an alliance enforced by an edict from the Council. Clan Skurvy is well known to any who ply their trade upon the high seas for they are the foremost naval power of the Under Empire. Their vast Fleet of sickly green ships scours the seas around Tilea for plunder and slaves. Clan Skuttle observes their storied rival with hatred in their heart, for they are nothing but a smaller, less successful version of Clan Skurvy.

Neither Clan would refuse the will of the Council, but neither will they let the other claim the glory and rewards so each Clan plots and schemes in secret to undermine the other. Skurvy is determined to take advantage of this opportunity, to expand their holdings into the North. Skuttle wishes only to see their rival fall, to surpass Skurvy as the Under Empire's pre-eminent naval power. But before either can get their way they must control the Seas, they must work together. Such an alliance is never meant to last. One side will betray the other, it is only a matter of time. But for now, at least, each side needs the other. It is a dangerous game indeed, but all the more fun for it.
