My quest to clear up any misunderstandings on the rules continues. Last night, Empire (yep, him again) player claimed that when firing a multiwound warmachine (cannon for example), it does d6 str10 hit. Okay, thats cool. Then he claimed that because a cannon does Multiple Wounds (d6), you effectively get d6 x d6 wounds against characters in a building. Is he correct or being wrong (again)? I think he's correct on that one. Something to watch out for (especially since occupying a fulcrum in SoM counts as defending a building). I'll check just in case but I'm reasonably sure that is indeed how it works. MUTATE: Yes, he's right. It's covered in italics on page 127 of the BRB. My blade shall cause your death

I believe he is correct in this one. That is of course if the character is alone in a building. Essentially he is right though but he does have to roll to wound. No getting past that. There is a small chance you will survive but not much.

I have awoken, so have my pets. My blades will be upon you soon. Then you will be bathed in warp-fire. *Laughs evilly*

I believe that is correct as well. The cannon shot gets randomized onto the unit inside, and then each randomized shot is the equivalent of 1 hit from a cannonball (this D6 wounds if it passed through wounding/saving process). A strong reason not to put lone characters in a building. Always have a unit go in with them and randomize the hits onto the unit members. For a particularly large unit this into-the-building streategy could help in reducing cannon casualties. --Cap |

The answer is to have a big ish unit and don't fail the look out sir role. Other wise your deader than dead a building is not a safe place for a character.

I don't put thing into buildings, don't see the point unless it's funny. Like putting 10 rat swarm bases in the Watchtower scenraio's watchtower. Our Tomb King's player, however, love putting his lich in them. |
