Was reading a blog post[/url by someone who'd gotten the resin kit of Draigo. Basically said that the models look exactly the same. Having said that, my local GW manager said tyranids have benefited the most as you can see all the lines in their carapace. I own a few Forgeworld nid models and I can believe that they lose a lot of detail. He also confirmed that Jezzails are 3 in a box. Edited by Grey Seer Exahm, 25th May 2011 - 04:03 PM.

So they're out now. Been hearing mixed things about them. Not gotten any myself yet because...I don't need anything. I noticed Deathmaster Snikch and Queek Headtaker are £10.50 now. Glad I got them when they were metal. Looks like my next months wages will be going towards metal models I don't have while they're still at the lower price. It's about time I bought some Censer Bearers anyway. |

Couple of things guys..... In my local store yesterday, they had a finecast chaos warrior in pretty good detail, took it, and threw it at the wall. It bounced.....so not as brittle as FW resin then. Secondly, I was looking at the Jezzail box......3 for £30.....blimey! I wanted 6 at some point, but there's NO WAY i can afford, or would want to apay £60 for 6 J-teams. GW, what are you thinking of? Crikey, you can get an army for that much on Ebay. Not even funny is it? On that note, does anyone have any tips on converting your own Jezzails please? Bob. |

Why U do dis?!
|
They redid some of the details on some models... Azhag has been redetailed, as shown by a metal and resin comparision in my local. And someone dropped the model and it survived nicely.... Not worth a price increase but not the piece of crap models I was expecting. |

I and all my gaming group have decided to boycott GW due to these outrageous price rises. As we're all in our thirties with good disposable income, we feel voting with our wallets is the way forward. I'll be buying second hand on eBay, or even switching to other games companies who appreciate our custom. GW are relying on apathy to get more money out of us. By not spending with them, and supporting other games companies, the market will open up, and GW will have to lower prices or face going out of business. Don't be tempted to buy 'just one more thing'. If you truly want to see these increases reversed, just boycott GW, and let your local store know you're doing it. Same, last good deals I saw were the special box releases for Apocalypse, now I get all my rats online (ebay and other sites, like craigslist) and the fact that they keep upping the price, hell, near $100 for the WFB core rules, pardon my cursing but f*** that s***, that's friggin ridiculous Also, to note Box of Jezials (3 minis) in the us costs $50 (at the shop I go too) Individual metal Jezials (1 per pack) $12.50 (until they had to pull all the metal minis even the ones on sale for missing bits) = 37.50 for 3 These 'fine cast' (same mold, just resin/plastic instead of metal) are 1 1/3 times more expensive, for a cheaper to make product, that just doesn't make much sense if you ask me, why jack the price up on something that costs less. They use a 'white metal' tin alloy, the cheapest I could find it was $18.25/lbs where as it's with the MOST expensive Polyethelyne (which is what they are made from) is $0.74/lbs meaning the price differential is rediculous, new resin 'fine casts' of the metal version are about 25 times CHEAPER to make yet they have a price hike of 1 1/3 of the cost for a more expensive to make product. They could have still turned a profit by charging 1/4 the amount of the old metal version, would have made their veterans happy, and, encouraged new players to join, by having a product of the same quality, at a fraction of the price. so as such, I'm 'voting with my wallet' also, as I lost my job in the economy crash, and, I'm still trying to get a job (seriously, it's a pain in the arse) and encourage others to do the same Edited by Craven Tail the cleansed, 3rd July 2011 - 11:56 PM.

I had no idea it was that much cheaper. the counter argument that people complain everytime gw raises prices is invalid this time. especially considering mantic also switched to resin and decreased prices by 50%. ive been buying my "new" skaven from ebay. bought 3 old metal jezzails for $20. the only 2 new items ive bought were discounted. IOB 15% off and zagstruck 27% off. the only thing i still buy are the washes and rarely paints. i also agree with stinkhair said about painted armies and veteran gamers. a well painted army is such great advertisement. it really makes it stand out as a hobby and show of dedication. unpainted armies look cheap and unnappealing. never have i been asked to see my stock unpainted model, but my finished models are always attention getters. |

My blade shall cause your death

We all know the price rise is ridiculous and it should easily go down. I would much rather buy it online than at GW. Th molds cost a lot but that does not offset the price. |

I have awoken, so have my pets. My blades will be upon you soon. Then you will be bathed in warp-fire. *Laughs evilly* | |

well considering, the plastics (including sprue) are about 2 ounces, that makes shipping costs go down drasticly (as the metals were about 5-6 ounces per mini) and, less material is needed per mini (the metal could get 3 maybe 4 minis out of a pound, where as with the plastics it's at least double that) making this just, plain, stupid, and yes, a well painted, nice looking army, does make a nice advert, a free one at that, if they dropped the prices, it would be easier to see huge apoc style fights with painted minis, which, do attract crowds of non players due to all the colors. |
