It's clearly not finished yet if you just check out the arms. The arms are just framework currently, so I'll be very interested to see it when they get all beefy arms and a weapon on it. As it stands I'm not a fan of the bloated belly. Reminds me too much of an unclean one and I definitely don't associate a Vermin Lord with anything particularly pestilence related beyond their spell list.

It is a vermin lord and it is unfinished.

Forge world held an open day at Warhammer world and thats where the pics were taken.

It might look nice at the end but terribly unpractical since its as big as a bus and not that awesome in combat.

I play a pestilence list and haven't bought the original verminlord as it just doesn't fit the theme of my army. This one looks more promising, but if they make it too ratlike it will become more of a parody I think. I hope it turns out well, but I'm a bit sceptical.

And yes, it's too expensive for what it does and I'm better off without it, but I want it :P

He appears to have a pair of scythe blades in his ears. Impractical.

Compared to the huge naked rat that was a work in progress the sketch actually looks pretty awsome.

Flem,
Looks way too anime-cartoony for me. I'm surprised with those big arms and ears they didn't give him a weapon 3x the size of his body.

I'm with Skaven Dan on this; is everybody sure that this is a Vermin Lord? Could it be a piece of scenery? Perhaps a sculpture of the Great Horned Rat as part of the promised scenery for the forthcoming Storm of Magic? This figure just doesn't seem to go with the Vermin Lord's rules, and I can't imagine that they would increase the size so much. Could this, perhaps, be a 3-up of a forthcoming plastic Vermin Lord--which would therefore, in production, be a more normal size? Or, perhaps, is the Storm of Magic going to be changing the Vermin Lord, making it more desirable?

As it stands now, most Skaven players would rather have a second alternate HPA than gigantic Vermin Lord. For me, I like the current metal Vermin Lord model, but it's so overpriced in points that I would never consider fielding it.

It does make sense that this would be a VL, I mean they are kind of the equivelant of a Greter Demon of the Horned Rat and the 4 chaos gods' greater demons got huge models from FW.

Playing skaven to minimize randomness is like going to prom with your sister, you can do it if you really want, but in the end everyone will still laugh even if you do get lucky.

I always take at least one Warpfire Thrower. You can't always rely on your opponent to do massive damage to your troops. Sometimes, you just have to do a job yourself.

The sculpture is quite a work in progress. The arms still needs to be done. Will they be bodybuilder big as suggested in the sketch? Horns look incomplete as well, maybe just for placement?

At first I was skeptical it was going to be the Verminlord. FW has also created new units with experimental rules so it very well be a unique unit. But, after seeing the sketch, with the huge horns and staff, it may very well be leaning towards a VL.

I actually like the sketch, but only as a sketch and in an exaggerated anime way. Not sure it fits the Warhammer style but that's me.

In any case, whatever it will be, I won't be able to afford it. <_<

MUTATE: Noticed something in one of the pictures...

Doesn't that look like a more complete sculpt of the one in the foreground? I don't suppose someone has a picture of that?

^^ That ringed model does look to be similar to the big one, and from what I can tell seems to be a closer match to that sketch as well. This is where we need a Blade Runner 'zoom in, enhance' moment :P

Too big with no protection. 5+ ward save is a joke anymore. I wont even have a shadow of a thought about buying this thing. Unless they make the big rat thing worth taking game wise I will never buy the model.
On the model...well, it has potential. I think it's horns are a little over sized. Shrink the horns and it could be a pretty cool model imo.
