Hell-o to all!
My first post here B)
Here is something that i'm going to test on sunday:

Lords:
*Queek Headtaker

Heroes:
*Assassin
-smoke bombs

*Chieftain
-Halberd
-Battle standard
-Banner of Verminous Scurrying

Core:
*Stormvermin x53
- +1 WS/S
- full command
- Banner of The Under Empire
- Warpfire Thrower

Special:
*Rat Ogres x18
- master-breed Rat Ogre
- packmasters x3

Rare:
*Hell Pit Abomination
*Doomwheel x2
*Warplightning Cannon

And a little about this army list. Main idea is to have fast moving (BVS) and hard hitting units with fast support, that can easly outmanoeuvre enemy units. Im going to put Queek and Chieftain in Stormvermin block, Assassin will be hiding there as well. Both Stormvermin and Rat Ogres will be set as a Horde. Doomwheels on flanks, HPA in the center of the army, little fire support made by cannon, and WT for flamming attacks (i will probably play against VC - really hate their heavy cavalry <_< ). Any suggestions?

Greetings

Soooooo my head exploded when I saw a unit of 18 rat ogres LOL But in all seriousness it seems like you lack units haha The ones you have sound like they will decimate what ever they touch, but you will be at extreme risk for getting flanked and then you can kiss your rank bonus good by and thus your units.

That being said, I will not discourage you from using this in a game....as long as you post a battle report on it cause I don't know about anyone else, but I just want to know what will happen haha.

P.S. does your army fall into the proper percentages? What size of army is this?

I concur. Two units of infantry, one 10 wide and the other (mon.inf) 6 wide, and random movement monsters (DWs and Abom) are not going to outmanuevre any typical warhammer army, even with a second turn Banner of Verminous Scurrying move.

Most enemy armies average 6-8 units with varying support/ artillery. Tactically you're already giving up a flank or two or three.

Your army has a lot of punch, but that can be countered by the enemy funneling your strike off at an angle with a 'trash' unit, and taking your exposed flank. Your stormvermin risk losing rankbonus quickly. 15 casualties can happen rapidly with uncontested shooting and magic.

I'd suggest the following to strengthen this build;

Get rid of the banner of the underempire; a random load of strength 2 hits is paltry compared to the hits from the Assassin, Stormvermin, Queek and BSB. It won't be adding much if anything against tougher opponents.

Seriously reconsider the banner of scurrying; you can only march (can't charge) with it after the first turn, and generally 8th edition warhammer combat is joined in turn 2 anyways (especially with reduced # of units like you have); plus you're taking casualties on your one main infantry unit for an extra 5".

If you keep it, move the Banner of Scurrying to the unit, or better yet get a different banner (like the Razor Standard; cause more damage to armored foes!) on the unit of stormvermin.

***If you do move the BSB's magic banner off, use the BSB's freed up magic slot to buy either the Shadow Magic Trinket, or Magic Resistance stones (preferably MR 3) to help combat magic and/or shooting.

Seriously consider using the storm banner, shutting down 1 turn of enemy shooting with such a rich field of targets is easially worth the 50 points.

Don't be afraid to move into a 5, 6 or 7 frontage with the storm vermin, your ranks will last longer and be much more beneficial than an extra grouping of attacks (especially if your enemies are formed up in a way that not all your SV are in combat), and you'll be more apt to stay steadfast. (10 wide, 5 deep will not stay steadfast for long)

Well, when I made this list, i wanted to use the horde formation, to check out how it works - I usually use about 25-30 Stormvermin with 6 rats wide front row ^_^ Behind the Rat Ogres horde idea is hiding a conversation wich i had with my mate last week: "how it would works, if i had a combine harvester on the tabletop" :D I don't really expect winning the game (of course I will do what I can :P ), it will be a learning game B) But I will try to figure out this list in a different way

Oh, and the game size is 2500 points
