Hi all, Ive got a 2500pt tournament coming up in a few months, and im trying to decide on which list to take, as I can see the pros and cons in both. List A gives me greater killing power overall, but suffers from the potential for more to go spectacularly wrong (misfires, etc). List B sacrifices the killing power of list A for more drops during deployment and the reliability of RnF units. LIST A Lords: Warlord - Sword of Might, Enchanted Shield, 5++ Talisman Grey Seer - Power Scroll, Skalm Heroes: Chieftain - BSB, 5++ Talisman, Shield Chieftain - Halberd Chieftain - Halberd Core: 20 x Slaves 20 x Slaves 20 x Slaves 30 x Clanrats - shields, musician, standard, PWM 30 x Clanrats - shields, musician, standard, PWM 30 x Clanrats - shields, musician, standard, PWM Special: 5 x Gutter Runners - poison, slings 5 x Gutter Runners - poison, slings 6 x Rat Ogres - 3 Packmasters 6 x Rat Ogres - 3 Packmasters Rare: 1 x WLC 1 x WLC LIST B Lords: Warlord - Sword of Might, Enchanted Shield, 5++ Talisman Grey Seer - Power Scroll, Skalm Heroes: Chieftain - BSB, 5++ Talisman, Shield Chieftain - Halberd Chieftain - Halberd Core: 20 x Slaves 20 x Slaves 20 x Slaves 30 x Clanrats - shields, musician, standard 30 x Clanrats - shields, musician, standard 30 x Clanrats - shields, musician, standard 20 x Giant Rats - 4 Packmasters 20 x Giant Rats - 4 Packmasters Special: 5 x Gutter Runners - poison, slings 5 x Gutter Runners - poison, slings 6 x Rat Ogres - 3 Packmasters 6 x Rat Ogres - 3 Packmasters Rare: 1 x WLC 1 x WLC So, which would you choose, and why? I know there is very little between the lists, but the list that I do take determines my overall playstyle for the tournament (offensive or defensive). |

If it is only a case of A or B i would go with A. PWM would be better than 2 blocks of rats against heavy armoured foes as you have only 2 cannons and magic to deal with them. BUT are you sure you want slaves in blocks of 20? After one combat phase you will lose 5-6 of them so you will loose 1-2 ranks and they will be broken. So they won't be even speed bumps on your foe's way - they will accelerate his advance. I would make them at least 30 strong to give them some chance to stay in the fight for at least 2 turns. |
