Having picked up two IoB box sets, here is my initial list using the models supplied. A bit of proxying is used here and there for now.

-Lord-
Warlord
w/ Warpstone Armour, Warlock Augmented Weapon and Pipes of Piebald

-Heroes-
Chieftan
BSB (Grand Banner of Clan Superiority) w/ additional handweapon and Poisoned Attacks

Warlock Engineer
Level 2 + Warp-Energy Condenser

-Core-
Clanrats w/ spears, shields, full command + Warpfire Thrower

Clanrats w/ spears, shields, full command + Poisoned Wind Mortar

Clanrats w/ shields, full command + Poisoned Wind Mortar

Clanrats w/ shields, full command + Ratling Gun

-Special-
2 Rat Ogres + Masterbred Upgrade + Master Moulder (w/ Poisoned Attacks)
2 Rat Ogres + Masterbred Upgrade + Skweel Gnawtooth

I'll have the Lord and Heroes among the Spear Clanrats, I think. Hoping for the Rat Ogres to survive long enough to flank when possible.

Any C&C very welcome.
Again, this is using the models I have from two IoB sets, with a little bit of proxying. I'll be increasing my model collection shortly, but until then I wanted to try this.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice though I would suggest you might want to consolidate your clanrats into larger groups. Take them from groups of 20 to maybe 2 groups of 30 and one group of 20, or one group of 30 and two groups of 25. This will keep their ld bonus intact while trying to reach the enemy.

Also, I may be wrong, but I don't think you can take a lord when you are below 2000 points.

Those are the only suggestions I can think of when it comes to the models you have. For the future my suggestion is slaves, slaves and maybe a few more slaves. They will be excellent at screening your rat ogres to keep them alive and hold enemies so your clanrats can get to the flank.

Good luck and may the Great Horned Rat smile upon you.

@Cha-Pel: With the new rules you can take a lord in smaller games due to percentages for army comp.

@mrborges: Make sure your army is within the limits i mention above, so for a 1500pt list make sure you don't have more than 375pts sunk into characters.

If you looking for feedback based on what you have, then turn those smaller units of clanrats into big ones: i.e. 40 and 40. Choose your weapon teams based on enemy, so for large blocks of troops PWM, or armored foes rattling gun and WFT. Also either put those units of rat ogres into one unit of 4, or ditch Squeel. His value is not great if only with 2 rat ogres.

Try to fit in either a PCC or a WLC for some artillery support.

Hope thats helpful.

looks pretty solid the only problem i have with it are the rat ogres i would drop them and take a abomination or 2 WLC or some other awesome rare choice

Thanks for the replies, guys.

After rolling some dice in a few mock engagements (i.e. 30 Clanrats vs 10 Swordmasters - two 150pt units), I can definitely see where a few more Clanrats in a unit will make a difference. Looks like I'll have to find some more Clanrats out there...time to bite the bullet and pick up a Battalion, maybe?

I believe my Lords and Heroes are fine, numerically, no?
190pts for the Warlord and a combined 237pts for the Chieftan and Warlock.

I'm going to do some fiddling using the advice above. I'll make the Clanrats bigger (losing the Weapon Teams for sturdier units), and combining the Rat Ogres.

As for WLC, PCC, Abomination, etc. I don't have those yet. I can proxy whatever is on a 50x100 base, but I'd rather not just yet.
Believe me, I WILL be adding a WLC and Doomwheel to my army ASAP. And a Bell. As I increase my army my first steps will be with a Clan Skryre motif - lots of warp. I'm less interested in Moulder, Eshin and Pestilens right now, but I'm sure I'll dip into those for variety and balance's sake. Mostly I want to keep my army as plastic as I can.

Again, thanks for the help. I'll post my updated list shortly.

*Edit*
Also, I'm not a fan of slaves. I know they're useful in blocking, hampering the enemy, etc. I know they're cheap. But right now I don't care for them. Not until they release an updated, plastic unit of them.

I totally agree on the slave comment but in some cases they are necessary and not liking them makes it all the easier to sacrifice them and get their models off the table haha

But as for models I just paint some of my clan rats with a different color scheme and when I need some slaves I just tell my opponent that the rats in purple are clannies and the rats in dirty brown are slaves, other wise hes none the wiser...

A skaven saying he does not like slaves is like a warrior of chaos saying he does not like chaos warriors.

Any competetiv skaven army includes at least 80 slaves. So you better start liking them or stick with "friendly" games.
