Is that what your local group told you to get you to stop playing with an Abom?
Thats awesome...Abom users cant play so they use aboms....
Do they tell the DEs who use hydras the same thing? Or people who bring gun lines?
Or deathstars?

Play the game you want to play within the rules. Dont let anyone tell you that you cant really play Warhammer because you bring x,y,or z. Tell them they cant play because they cant deal with it on the table.

Spot on!

Anyone who tells you that you are using a crutch deserves to be beaten over the head over and over with that crutch until they shush up.

OMG we actually agree on something!?!?!?

AWESOME!!!!

No, seriously though do what Sleboda said. I was trying to deter physical violence but I see the error in that line of thinking now...

So you're admitting that it is a crutch? :P

Anyway, for adding content relevant to the discussion, I'd say our best two rare choices are the Abomb and Cannons, but the Doomwheel is a good support choice for either. With the Abomb/Doomwheel, take a storm banner some other scary stuff like a furnace or big Rat Ogre unit and go for a more HTH style list. Or if you take cannons and/or catapults, squeezing in the Wheel for some decent disruption/counterattack can work well too.

So while I'd say the Abomb is superior to the Doomwheel, it really does depend on the rest of your list and what your general strategy is.
No battle plan survives contact with Clan Skryre.
