Not at all? In order to use a doomrocket, you need to be within 12-16 inches, thats chargerange, goddbye lvl2 mage. Nacked BSB, where should he go? Dead in all of the three units. 40 stormvermin, nice, but without flank protection. 25 slaves? They do what? The shredder is used for what? Drawing small missle fire so the WFT dies in round 2, not 1? |

I get a very cool and evil idea in looking at the tournament list. nearly none of the people at my club watches the articles at site so I just wanted to try that army, or nearly the same scarr |

The last one - the 2k list. Looks viable. The others seem a bit lacking in... Multiple units. I'm not an expert, but they seem to have done the exact oposite of what Skaven are good at - outnumbering your oposition. |

I like the 2k army (and this is better than his 2k list in the IoB list article). Like bat reps, I think lists posted are to sell the models. 40 storm vermin!? That's over £60 in the till. Points would be much better spent on decent-sized units of slaves. |

Agreed, to me only the last list looks viable. It seems like the first one would do well on the surface (it looks pretty intimidating) but for reasons stated above it would crumble quickly. All these lists are plugs from GW to buy their new models. Notice how each of them have at least two new models? |

It does say in the 'What's New Today' article that these lists are designed to show you how you can fit the new models into an army, so they have done it deliberately, but I do agree it's just a plug! :ph43r: LK |

Well, they are meant to be themed lists based around Ektrik and Septik. And themed lists are by their very nature not as good as power-gaming lists due to a lack of complete and total freedom of unit choice among other things. For example, it would be unnatural for a Skryre themed list to contain a Plague Furnace and accompanying 40 monks. The lists are designed to have fun with rather than win every game you play. (Although I do agree that they wouldn't win. (Excepting the tournament one obviously. It looks pretty solid.)) Sketch |
