Okay, lets say that I have a normal infantry unit, 5 broad. In the front rank I have two characters and Full Command. in the second rank I have another charater, most probably the BSB or a wizard. Then, an enemy unit charges my unit head on and kills one of the charaters, or the champion. Is my character in the second rank then forced to do a Make Way move to the first rank? Or will the empty spot in the first rank be filled with a normal RNF model? I guess that the character will move to the front rank, since the other option looks cheesy and weird. Thoughts? |

You could just say the RNF model takes his place, but because characters have to be in the front of the unit (assuming there is room) the character moves the RNF model out of the way. or the short version is that the character moves up to take the place

I thought the wording of the rule was that character was forced to be deployed at the front rank, not that they are always forced to be at the front rank. |

It dosnt say a character is forced to move out of the second rank during combat. It does say that after a combat is over the character is moved back into the front rank at the start of the following movement phase (under make way and other ranks p.100). |
