:KA-BOOM: The ASHES!!!! :KA-BOOM:

Thats right gentle rat folk, the Ashes start this wednesday night at 11.30pm UK time!
So watch those googlies and protect your middle stumps.

....and for all non - English and Aussies, this is cricket by the way.

I've got saturday mainly free, so thought i'd stay up most of the night and paint models and listen to the days play, for the 4th day of the 1st test.
Anybody who wants to join me in a bit of painting, whether your a cricket fan or not can join me!
All Ashes related banter is more than welcome in here! :)
To start us off, here is England bowler Chris Tremlett's impression of the cave troll from LOTR's....

Arrrgghhhhhh, must take wickets......nyarrghhh.

Are you man (or breeder) enough to take up the challenge?

Englands Cricketers Challenge You With The Sprinkler Dance!!!

Consider yourselves 'served' [size0](according to young, popular kids) Aussies and fellow painters!

Who's with me then, for what promises to be an insane night? ^_^

Very nice.

Personally I think you Poms will retain the urn. The Australian side doesnt look much chop, and they havent done for some time. I personally blame Ponting (I never really liked him, never agreed with his move to Captain and dont agree with a lot of things that he does on the field/has done with the team).

Nevertheless, if we win, :P to you. :D
You kids these days have it so easy, what with your Plague Furnaces and your Hellpit Abominations and your Bonebreaker Warlords. Back in MY day, all we had was Slaves and Clanrats!...and auto-hit Ratling Guns...and skirmishing Jezzails...and 2D6 Warp Lightning...and Lead From The Back...wait, what was my arguement again?

 The Aussies are never easy to beat on their home soil. I think it will be a hard fought series with England winnign 3-1.

If Mitchell Johnson finds some form, things could be interesting. A lot depends on Watto with the bat as well.
I don't envy Ponting, as he's really got to stand up and be counted in this series to get the wolves away from his door.

Challenging skritchskritch? ^_^

PS - Anyone who wants to be entertained, go find Swanny's Ashes blog on youtube. Smegging hilarious! :D
Theres 3 episodes so far and they are damn funny.

The Ashes has started! First day at the Gabba, Strauss wins the toss and England will bat first.

In celebration and to show the Aussies that we are serious, the ECB have sent Mike Gatting to Oz, to eat all their pies.

As you can see, this makes Gatt's happy! ^_^

I'm listening to a few hours of the first days play, and am getting my guard ready to paint for the challenge. :)
Anybody else going to be challenging, or following the Ashes?

Well the 1st test isn't really going Englands way too much. Good hard fight though, with not much seperating the teams. Australia with a slight edge though!

I will set up the challenge thread tomorrow morning.
I won't be joining in till around 5pm UK time, as i'm going to watch the England rugby match up the pub. :)
Once challenging I will be able to listen to Karl Froch trying to win his WBC title back at ~10pm and then the cricket starts at midnight. Joy!

All that and painting Guard. ^_^

No one else going to join?
