Ok, I've had a rude introduction to the Death Lore, specifically Spirit Leech. I lost two WE's and the Plague Furnace to it. Any suggestions to prevent this? I can think of putting a WE with MR (3) in the unit with the PF, but it still will not have a Ward save, even if the PP does. Regardless, the Leech can take out the WE on one turn, and then hit the furnace on the next turn. This is a real conundrum. Any suggestions? |

Dont let the wizard cast Spirit Leech? 1. Store your Dispel Dice for the spell, dont get sucked into using your dice on other, crappier spells (Death Lore only has about 2 good spells in it anyway). 2. Assassinate the wizard with some scouting Gutter Runners. 3. Hit the unit he's hiding in with Dreaded 13th (sure, it wont kill the wizard, but he now has to deal with 2-odd ranks worth of Clanrats 1" away from him). 4. Same as 3, but in your subsequent Shooting phase drop a Warp Lightning Cannon template on his now-exposed head. There are a number of ways to deal with troublesome Wizards. Just be thankful he isnt a Life wizard with Dwellers Below. |
| You kids these days have it so easy, what with your Plague Furnaces and your Hellpit Abominations and your Bonebreaker Warlords. Back in MY day, all we had was Slaves and Clanrats!...and auto-hit Ratling Guns...and skirmishing Jezzails...and 2D6 Warp Lightning...and Lead From The Back...wait, what was my arguement again? | |

Why wouldn't the dreaded 13th kill the wizard? It’s based on 4D6 against the number of infantry models in the unit. This is what makes the dreaded so deadly it can be cast from hand to hand, It is not subject to the "Look out Sir" rule and can turn multiple characters in a unit into CR. There is no test or save just 4D6 infantry models turned into CR. If those infantry models happen to include characters then they would be turned into CR if the 4D6 was high enough. I have checked the Skaven 1.2 errata and I don't see an reference to a change for this. I do not see anything in the WHBR 1.1 FAQ either. Why do you think the Wizard is not killed and can you please reference any specifics. Thanks |

well if it's distributed as shooting then wouldn't infantry character get LoS against it at least? Since it doesn't use BS it would be treated as unusual shooting for purposes of distribution, and this allows an LoS if there are more than 5 RnF. |

I don't have my book on me, but IIRC, Look Out Sir! is only allowed against ranged attacks. Distributed as shooting =!= ranged attack(other wise you'd get LoS vs certain melee attacks, ie. Avalanche of Flesh, which you don't). |

Look out sir is only useful if there are models that can take the hit, if the whole unit is wiped, there is no point. (Plus something about needing atleast 5 unit str to do so) But I agree with the other guy, that there really isn't any LoS wit this spell. |
