How do you cross a defend river line? I'm thinking it's basically impossible since you lose SiN and Steadfast. Am I missing something here? |

No, you're not missing anything. Rats hate rivers. |

You normaly should avoid such situations at all cost. The only units really suitable for such a task would be a bell or a furnace. If you dont have such units, you should rely on shooting and magic, CC in rivers is a real no-go for skaven. |

Rivers should have a bridge or fordable area where you can at least go five wide and keep your ranks. Of course that choke point may be heavily defended... |

But then you could just position all your weapon teams around the bridge and say "come on" Use some sort of screen to get yourself over. Otherwise try to add extremely many slave units and make them push over. scarr |

I played 2500 against beastmen. during terrain, he rolled 2 rivers. They ran in from the table edge, then turned to reach each deployment zone. I think he thought i would try to get across (and negate my ranks and steadfast). I simply waited for him to cross the water as beastmen have no shooting. He had alot of failed charges and such. in addition, one of the rivers cast lore of light spells. In summary, do not enter the water! |
