Hey y'all, wich one of the weapon teams do you like to put with your clanrats the most?
I personally love the plague mortar, as it's powerfull and move and fire.

Honestly not a Dalek.

strangely enough for me it's still the ratling gun. 18" is a great upgrade (even if it has to roll to hit now)

-the move and shoot of the poisoned wind mortar is indeed nice and makes sure no turn is wasted. (but it just doesn't wipe annoying units as much as a ratling gun)
-the WFT is also very nice since it can stand and shoot (putting it in front of your parent unit when in need, can really make your opponent think twice)
-the doomflayer is by far my least favourite (especially when compared to the ratling gun for the same points + the necessity to take a clanrat/stormvermin unit)

its a hard choice being skyre I like them all :)
with the new big blocks of inf and template rules poison mortars are fun especially using parent unit for spotting , I still liked the much nerfed ratling guns for style and who cant love flame thrower ^Warpfire^

Why U do dis?!
The warpfire thrower. In my last game, they turned it around for me, despite some terrible rolling for both magic and combat. Their only downside is that if something gets closer than about 6 inches due to a combat going wrong, they start to suffer.

I tried ratling guns once in this edition, and i wasnt impressed. Rolling to hit coupled with a less friendly misfire (as opposed to rolling double 1 just jammed your gun, so rolling a 1 and a 2, you still rolled another dice) means its not worth 55 points. Its probably closer to 35.
I am looking to get a hold of the following items, as many as possible:
The new style skulls from numerous kits (less heroic scale skulls)
Any bits of skeletons (both older skeletons and new vc skeletons)
Toppers from stormvermin banners (grey seer type skulls)

I have lots of fantasy and 40k bits to trade, including:
Imperial guard special and heavy weapons
Daemonette bits
Bits from land raiders, and chaos space marines
clanrat arm weapons
hellpit arms
Ghoul and zombie bodyparts
older metal Chaos marines

Message me if you can help.

Warpfire Thrower here, followed closely by the Plague Wind Mortar.
They are awesome in my opinion, plus I usually field them both.

I love em all if I`m honest they all make me laugh so hard, Just the other night I had a warpfire thrower misfire run into the middle of a HE spearman unit and kill 13 which I laughed at even harder seeing as it had barely killed 5 whilst shooting properly

WFT has always and will remain my favorite weapon team. it's time tested, causes panic tests, melts faces, and can affect lots and lots of elves!

Mortars are pretty cool to provide a bit of extra support if moving quickly.

My favourite though is the WFT. It doesn't even have to be used in a direct offensive role.

It's amazing how many times a single WFT has held a flank/position simply because my opponent knows how devastating it could be against the unit wanting to get by.

Same here. The Warp-Fire Thrower hides behind the Clanrats until nearby slaves get into combat. Then I move the weapon team up and around, firing into the unlucky foe for a few turns. The only drawback to this tactic is that you lose the Panic test caused by a wound, but I'll take all the dead models instead.

The Poison Wind Mortar does the same, but it stay behind their clanrat unit and fires at the same unit picking on the slaves if there are no armored targets out there.

Never tried the Rattling Gun, and I don't think I will (although I do like the model)

WFT or PWM, depending on my army composition.

PWM if my entire army is all-out rushing the enemy as they can move forward with the other units and put a few casualties on key enemy units.

The WFT is more difficult to get into the right position to fire, but the effect can be truly devastating.

Given my tendencies in list-building it is the WFT hands down. Templates are my answer to pesky characters like BSBs and Generals so the more the merrier.

As mentioned above, PWM work better if you are moving forward (and taking your team with you) and I *do* use them in my lists but for 5 points nothing warms my heart like seeing 25 burning man-things.

Since I tend to run shooting/magic with redirecting Slaves it best suits me to have multiple WFTs in position to punish someone who actually hits slaves or overruns them.

I'm going to go with the Warpfire Thrower.

I hate that they can't move and shoot, but I love the damage they dish out.

The Mortar just never does much for me with the need to roll a 5+ to "wound" anything.

WFT seems the most common choice, or at least the favourite thus far.
I love the WFT and PWM IOB models. That's another great thing about them!
