This thread is meant to collect positive information about the bell. I would like for people to describe the good things it have done on the table, whatever it is big or small and perhaps inspire or enlighten fellow gamers. There is a another thread about the bell which is more of a rulesdebate. This thread is not for debating rules, this is for debating performance.

I one time rolled a 13 on the very first turn and panicked an entire empire army off the field before it even got to move.

Much like Kevlar my most dramatic Screaming Bell use was under the 6th edition Bell's rules. Rolled the 'd3 wounds to T7 models' twice in a game.
Against a dwarf army. :KA-BOOM:
First turn I got the first of my big boom rolls, blasting a Grudgethrower off the board and doing various damage to all the rest. Third turn I got it again, clearing every remaining warmachine off the board. These being well-runed machines, any one of them was worth nearly as much, if not more, than the Bell.

Brain: There's only one ride that interests me - the incredible thrill ride of taking over the world! Pinky: Mmm, I think there's a height requirement for that ride.
screaming bell explodes kills over 75 empire guys and 40 skaven, he runs away and what was looking like a crushing defeat ends in a victory for the horned ones favored.

:KA-BOOM: :D

Had mostly mid table rolls, enouigh to be a PITA to my Oppoent. I keep mine centrally placed, with the unit buff rolls beingh most common. I think I`ve rolled 13 once ....

I don't really see the point of this thread. If you just want to hear about the amazing things it can do, just look at its tables and pick and choose which effect you want. Be it D3 wounds against T7+ models against a Lore of Life heavy army or an army with a lot of warmachines.

The question is rather would that happen often enough for the draw backs + pts cost of the Bell.

Against my better judgment, I used it again last night.

My tale of success is...well....um....it didn't die!

I put it in a unit of 60 storm vermin. They lived and it lived, so that was a lot of VPs denied.

Three times it rolled the re-roll LD within 24 (useless).
Once it did the the damage to all T7 models roll, but the enemy had nothing T7.
Once I did not ring it.
The game ended before turn 6.

My army never needed the 18 inch Presence, nor did LoS matter.

But, again, it did not die, so that's gotta count for something.

How did you roll 13 on 1D6? The Bell can only roll 1 die the first turn. I see a couple people saying they had big rolls on the first turn. Is there a trick I don't know?

From the Skaven Supplement

"For the first roll, only a single dice can be rolled, but in subsequent rounds up to three dice may be rolled"

Are people overlooking this or did it get FAQ'd (Hey I did miss the whole removal of the magical missle part for the Stormbanner and I must have read the Skaven FAQ 25 times.

@Bobofreak: The old army book had different bell rules - 13 pretty much panicked your opponent's entire army.

The best use of the bell I've had was leaving it out of my army! That was 500 points I didn't just gift my opponent!!

True but theres nothing tactical talking about an old editon of the bell (Not that I mind the conversation) just maybe not in this forum

and not to get into a "Who's Bell is bigger" contest I would bet I am playing Skaven just as long if not longer then you.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you only roll 1 dice to ring it in the first turn.

Well I've been playing since 1996. Lots of my old skaven posts are archived on rec.games.miniatures.warhammer.
