Question about Stormvermin and the Bell

I think I won't risk using arguable rules only to gain 3 attacks. At least not when talking about clanrats :lol:

I've had good results with using stormvermin to push the Bell, and I've only used 29 of them.

They deploy in hordeformation, always, for better protection against warmachines and miscast. My army also includes a Furnace and Doomwheel and my opponents (in friendly games and tournaments) seems to favor shooting at those things instead. Add in the stormbanner and a couple units of gutter runners and the army tends too hold together fairly well.

So why stormvermin?
-They strike first against important enemy units like gouls
-They hit better and harder: 3+/3+ against humans/clanrats makes a HUGE difference in bringing down enemy models. Very important i 8th ed.
-They carry the stormbanner

And why with the Bell?
- Easier to get a hordeformation
- The Bellunit can very well fight in combat. Personally i take my chances on just giving the Grey Seer Skalm for protection, but rival hide and fencer blades are nice upgrades
- 50% chance of ekstra movement is well worth it to make surprice flankcharges, or even attack enemies originally standin behind the Bell. Again, in situations like that, I would prefer stormvermin
- The Bellunit tends to be flankcharged (against many enemies who strike very hard or has hatred this is actually a good tactic), and then the clanrats 6+ parry won't count for anything
- They look very cool B)

I'm thinking along the same lines as Severus. I figure the Banner of the UnderEmpire might be nice to help against flankers.

just thinking a nasty combo would be stormvermin with banner of dripping death with a warlitter warlord with stuff then a BSB in second rank with banner of the swarm.

3 possible auto S3 hits with no save plus attacks plus another 2D6 S2 or 3 cant remember.
