Hi there brothers and sisters of the Horned Rat. Just popping in to say hello and introduce myself and ask a quick question. My name is Sam, or Warlord Carnifex on this board. I haven't exactly started playing Skaven JUST yet but they are my army of choice for when my girlfriend starts collecting her Dark Elves, which look like they will be quite a challenge for me haha. Quick Question - Why aren't Vermin Lords able to be generals and why do most people say that they aren't worth it? I'll likely field one anyway, but i'll be using a small amount of points to begin with, so I was wondering if it's even worth using the big ol' rat daemon? Thanks for having me here

HEY!!! my second call name on some places is Carnifex we are all glad to have you here, but watch yourself, there's enough assassins here to stalk you your entire life. well it would be obvious as they probably could kill you pretty fast anyway May you stay here be... interesting :ph43r: PS: do you know what Carnifex means... executioner!!! MUTATE: quick answer: vermin lords can't be generals because they are monsters and have a rule that says that because they are monsters they can't be it so... yeah |

Haha, yeah, my knowledge base let me know what it meant, I basically stole it from the band because I couldn't think of a name. And okay cool, at least now I have a proper explanation as to why I can't field him as a general. Looks like a Grey Seer or Queek for me then. |

If I can make a suggestion, I got some great deals on ebay from High-Elf players selling their skaven from the Island of Blood set. It couldn't hurt to send a night-runner or two (or twenty... damn things are expendable) to keep an eye on the ol' on-the-line marketplace. And it's too bad your girlfriend didn't want to collect High Elves; then you could've pulled the ol' "Here, honey! Early birthday present!" with IoB. "Ooooh. That's a lot of Skaven to put together. How about I give you a hand with those?" And welcome, fellow newbie, to this strange and terrifying place. |
