Hey Guys I guess I should introduce myself since I'm new to this forum. I have been a fan of Warhammer (fantasy and 40k) since I was a kid and that fragile time has since hooked me to the hobby/lore and video games.

Over the past number of years I have been mostly 40k oriented, because of my friends who do not want to start Fantasy until their 40k armies are fully complete... anyways I always liked both so recently I have been eying the rulebook and starter set - not really knowing what army to choose. Originally I was thinking of Orcs/Beastmen/Dark Elves yet I managed to cut those all down since I have a large Chaos Space Marine army for 40k (word bearers) and a decent Ork horde, and have been waiting since the 90s for a Dark Eldar update... Anyways after thinking about it I decided to go Skaven, I loved them when I was a kid but never wanted to start them back in the day because of the older lamer models (although I'll admit some have a cool classic feel).

Anyways with Island of Blood here now It really rooted me into starting Skaven and im picking up a start box tomorrow and am quite exited after seeing all the new Skaven stuff - very impressive I must say. So it all seems very good, my friends are all content with me going Skaven since they all like different armies: Greenskins, Brettonians, Dwarves and High Elves. However they were a little surprised I was going Skaven since im 6'7 and Skaven are little runts (Rat-Ogres and Verminlords notwithstanding :rogre: ) they thought I would go Hordes of Chaos - but i love swarming enemies (40k Orks much...) and im looking forward to having an endless horde of little psychotic minions to command.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a bunch of friends who play strictly 40k and want to play Fantasy, but they are too impatient and "busy" to learn the rules of Fantasy. The two people who did play Fantasy now live hours away and I haven't seen them in over a year.

Never the less, there is a GW that is an hour and a half away from my house via bus because I can't drive from my epilepsy. They play Fantasy obviously, and more players (like us) have started because of the IoB release. I'm lucky because most of them play High Elves and don't want the Skaven models. :P

Regardless. I am eager to learn the new rules, play and paint the two IoB sets of Skaven models I have, and try and get some friends interested.

Also, I'm a 6'4" guy playing a swarm army of rats. Ironic.
