I have a question regarding how you remove casualties from a mixed unit in combat. The section in the BRB says that you remove casualties from the back of a unit and gives no exception that I can find for mixed units ( like Rat ogres, giant rats, squig herders) Most people at my store seems to think that even if they are swinging at the giant rats or rat ogres I have to remove my packmasters from the back before applying wounds to the ogres or giant rats. Now to me this seems very wrong but I can't find a rule that makes it otherwise, help me out here please. |

Well i am not sure it is really printed anywhere, but logic states that you reomve the rearmost model of the same type. I mean if you can't hit one you can't kill it either. |

That's what I would assume too but certain players at my store are very strict about following the rules as they are written, and with an ardboyz tourney coming up I need to know exactly how it would get ruled. |

I'm betting this is one of these: "Its so obvious we don't need to say it." situations. |

If you look in the close combat section you choose what type of model you are attacking from those in base contact. As packmasters aren't in base contact you can't direct your attacks at them... you have to send your attacks at the giant rats. You then remove the rearmost models of the type you attacked for ease of removing models. Your friends where you play are twisting rules pretty hard on this one. |
