P.S. Oh my god, I have to use this as a character mount!

Now THAT, is a rat swarm :o

There's a clan eshin rat ogre for mordheim, but I can't work out what's so eshiny about it for the life of me. Still, it may be worth a look: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...dId=prod1120029

Wow, that is a pretty cool rat swarm!

I have that Eschin Rat Ogre in the blister pack still - cost me $9.99 at the time I got it. Been saving it for a day when the Skaven book would actually make Rat Ogres worth taking. I think that day has finally arrived :)

Your Eshin themed army sounds great so far, keep up the good work!

Please do! It's going to be months before I'm able to put one together, so I wouldn't mind seeing what others come up with for ideas. What would you build yours out of? I'm considering maybe an old Screaming Bell as the base with added plasticard to fill out the shape.

I've started a thread for my Tröjan Rat. As to how I'll build it it'll be mostly balsa, with some wheels and bits and such.

Greetings all, I am starting a similar army and instead of starting a new thread for my ideas it would be better to hijack this thread.

My idea is for an Eshin army from the East, influenced by the armies of Cathay and Nippon that marches to war every now and then, perhaps sent on some dastardly mission. I have this problem where every army I create has to be overly themed and every model converted.

I have many ideas for small conversions to add some dark humour but not sure if they are racist. IE, Clanrats holding fans and even an origami crane. Hello Kitty shield, Geisha face paint and the name of my assassin is No. 7. People I have spoken to so far find them amusing and characterful but I don't want the army to look like a mish mash of Oriental themes and worst of all..... offensive.

I shall share my army and what I will be making things from.

Warlord, based on Queek but changed enough so as to make him unique. I want the army led by a Skaven who is more motivated by the standing guard of Cathay than just Ninjas. Uses Queeks rules.

Assassin, based on the previous Screaming Bell ringer with hammer switched for a massive sword and positioned to be flying through the air. I discovered this by mistake as I had started on the model and only done the skin and noticed how 'Eshin' he looked.

Warlocks, based on the IoB engineer and maybe a plague monk, changed around alot to look more like Warlocks of old. Doom Rocket and scroll caddy.

BSB, based on the IoB warlord, holding a banner in his tail with weapon swaps. The generals (un)trustworthy right hand man.

Clanrats and Stormvermin won't be converted much, the colour scheme will help with that.

Slaves based on choice Clanrat models with suitable scheme.

Night Runners and Gutter Runners are based on choice Clanrat models.

Hell Pit Abomination, the centre piece. A captured oriental dragon kept in chains, prodded forward by his new master.

Plague Claw Catapult, Eshin Firework team.

Some great ideas so far, I especially like the dragon HPA idea!

I'd try and stay away from mixing too many kitschy themes, especially stuff like geisha facepaint and fans. A good rule of thumb would be if you can find a picture of an ancient Chinese or Japanese warrior wearing it, it's an ok idea to copy.
