its a BIG model maybe a little big for an Abomb certainly too big for a pox rat or bone breaker

very nice going to add feathered wings to one my self for a lord of change conversion

I am between the Tyranid Carnifex and the Trygon to be converted to an HPA. It is supposed to be wormy with rat parts, but I would like to also put some wheels/cart under it. So I'm leaning toward Carnifex. I would just need to put a long tail on it, green stuff over most of the scaly parts, modify the head and add Rat Ogre heads and limbs.

I much prefer this

Closer to a Pestilence themed HPA, but at least it's definitely a rat.

That's what I've used as a HPA...mainly because I haven't got time for major conversions and I didn't want something that looks like it was a "present" from my pet dog!

For anyone else considering using it in their own armies, it does fit quite nicely on the recommended 60mm x 100mm base (the model being slightly longer - probably 125mm nose to tail).

If you're looking for a stock model to use as an abomination, I would definitely recommend the Necromunda Caller's giant rat (as linked by Ratemis) over the Thing in the Woods.

A proper Abomination should be pretty big. Just take a read through the fluff on one, it takes every opportunity to emphasize sheer size; "living mountain... hideous bulk... towering height... vast boulder sized fists."

The Thing in the Woods is just way too small to be a proper abomination. It could be a decent Bonebreaker.

how bout this for a hellpit abomination

http://cgi.ebay.com/WH-MPG-Converted-Un-Pa...018651021387605

some group in asia made these out of resin (yes they have multiples of this)

i love it

That is a great model but I would be wary of trying to use it in a GW tournament because it is a resin cast of official GW parts from the bell kit. It is these kind of things that make GW lawyers throw a hissy fit.

As for the use of the caller as a Abomination, it works quite well and really only needs the skulls cut from its ears to work.

My thought on that was "It's a great model, but why'd they have to cast GW bits?" It looks like most of the model is scratch built, except for the wheels and spiky bits. The obvious re-use of bits just cheapen the whole appearance, in addition to violating IP.

Why after sculpting the majority of it themselves, it seems dumb to just half-ass that final little bit.

Then Thing in the woods is a good pox rat... u just need to "sicken" it up a bit.. wich is easy enuff with some GS or even just paintwork.

Its was to small to be a HPA tho...

How 'bout this one?

Abomb picture

A friend of mine made it with inspiration from the blindwyrm the abomb was made from. After all, it's supposed to be a abomination, not a giant rat ;)

It's on a 50x100base and as you can see it really towers the regular rats.

More pics on the link below but don't mind the text, it's in swedish:

Abomb

EDIT: Omg! Big picture, added a link instead.
