In the rules for the WTF it stats that it has to be aimed at a target in line of sight. You can only target a unit if its not involved in combat (except skavenslaves). You can't just nominate a direction and let rip. There is nothing stopping you from aiming at a viable target, then 'accidentally' overshooting into another combat though.

Sweet :D
Tournemant results to date:
vs Vampire Counts: 1 victory
vs Dwarves: 1 victory
vs Daemons: 1 Draw
vs Brettonians: 1 draw, 1 loss
vs Skaven: 1 victory
vs Lizardmen: 1 victory
vs Dark Elves: 1 loss
vs High Elves: 1 loss

So the next question is, can I target my own unit of clanrats if they are out of combat.

Interesting side not, after rereading the rules on warpfire throwers it doesn't seem to specify that the target needs to be a unit. I think our beloved author made another mistake lining RAI with RAW.

That's because you're supposed to read the rule book, and not just your armybook. It's not Vetock making a mistake, it's you with your own silly cake in your face.

"The rulebook doesn't say I can't shoot at 1:72 scale German soldiers! Ha ha, take that, nazi toys!"
