Glittering scales is nice for the -1 to hit. Means pretty much evrything with W6 or less will be hitting you on 5+ which increses your survivability by 16.66% regardless of the enemies strength/ignoring armour. Like Warlock Matik said it is more interesting then helpful. I think one of the most fun combinations is using the terrifying mask of EEE. Seeing as you don't have to even make the charge to force the enemy to take a terror test, and assassins have a maximum charge range of 18". Even better though with his amazing deployment options he can force the enemy to flee towards your main battle line or through his own lines forcing massive panic! It's hilarious watching one assassin take out 50+ night goblins. One question I have is does the rathound bodyguard benefit from poison and ASF re-rolls? It gives the model an extra WS3 S3 attack and suposedly all the models attacks benefit from poison/ASF re-rolls. |

Just had a match against Woodelves, i put 3 Assassins in a unit of 15 / 18 gutter runner. yeah, too much, but it absolutely wiped his archers. they are cool now with hatred 0.5 :} Still, i am probably gonna run max 2 with some armor or additional ward saves. just cause they are too expensive to die ... |

Additional wards will do nothing unless you can find an item that gives a 2+ or 3+ basic. And a triad in a gutter runner unit - that's just mean (but completely in character so well done )

Well warpstone throwing stars got nerfed. Throwing weapons now have -1 for shooting at long range anything over 3". Also nowhere does it say that lone characters on foot benefit from -1 to being hit or benefit from being able to march and shoot. They only benefit from these rules when they join a unit of skirmishers. If only the assassin could march and shoot when running alone, it would negate the throwing weapon nerf. (as soon as a character joins a skirmisher unit, he can suddenly march and shoot and is harder to hit....what?!?!) |

Even with a 4+ AS he's still not that hard to kill. I think maybe giving him some more protection might help him eat through some infantry for more than one round. I just can't see hi lasting too long without more protection because of all the attacks back. I like the -1 to hit. Maybe the best choice I have heard so far?
I really like this idea. Ive never really looked at the assassin as more than a bodyguard but this makes them a weapon. |

I was looking at a couple builds for a Assassin Triad unit. Ogre Blade, and Enchanted Shield. Weeping Blade and Potion of Strength. Glittering Scales and Terrifying Mask of EEEEEE!. |

On another note. You could give him MR and make the ward save better vs magic including the ward save for the GR unit. Just a thought. |

I'd suggest using him on the flanks, since supporting attacks can only be made to the front. Even if the unit is unengaged when you charge the flanks, their parry saves and supporting attacks go away. Even spears wont work on the flanks. |
