Here it is my first unit of Skaven say what you think of it:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Purple is going to be my main colour and they will also get an snowbase but I first want to finish some more before doing that. This unit takes about 3 hours to paint and I am happy with the speed/result. Thanks for your reply in advance, Greetz Flappie |

It looks great! My only suggestion is maybe washing the metal? That things-catcher is super shiny, and that just isn't very skavenesque. |

Looking good, though some of those doomwheel rats look a little less than "giant". I have a bunch of the metals, not sure I want to mix in those little plastic ones. I might put them on a swarm base instead. |

Nope, those all look to be from the 'Giant' rat box. And you're right, some of them are not very 'giant' at all. They're still well over a (scale) foot long in the body , so they are giant enought for me...

Oh they look just like the extras that came with my doomwheel, about half of them are big enough to base, but the other 4 look swarm sized. I like the idea of using a swarm base in the middle of giant rats that I saw on another post though. It will help fill out a block of 18 rats, but I can also use it as a swarm if I ever feel the need to use them. I bought a bunch of the rats that look like centaurs/stegadons. They are a lot bigger than the plastic ones. |

Malkin: Hmmm your right I forgot to mention thats just the pic I washed it and it looks darker in real life (I looked at the pics and thought 'Huh what happened to the metall?') Point is that in the pics where the metalls are good shown the rest of the pic is not good so I left them out. Kevlan: I will use the swarms they sell in blister for swarms so I dont have an problem with size. Also because these are bigger then the rat swarms they are called Giant Rats. Vulcan: Yes they are from the Giant Rats box but can be found on almost every other sprue from Skaven Kevlar post 2: Yep they are also in the doomwheel. Swarm sized (how I see it) is the size of GW swarms. Those are not even half the size of the smallest from these. Also I want to fill it up with an small pipe with an bit of toxic water in it/under it/hanging from it. Why I use them all and not just the biggest is because I want a load from them. 50 and probably even 100 of these little buggers so I will just take every Giant rat from every sprue for that. For Swarms like I said I will be using the original swarms from GW because they are even smaller then these rats. Thanks for the comments and that you like them is also good (your the experts so...) Today I will get glueing more rats and then paint a few up this weekend so hopefully some pics after this weekend. Greetz, Flappie |

Just for the metal, washing is not enough, imho, i brush every metal with grey and it looks so unshiny, you cant imagine ... im planning to do my bronze blades this way. And then a bestial brown brush for rust, have no better colour for it, and i like the results. However, i like it, exspecially the rats. |
