Ok im new and never written on forums before so bare with me. My problem is ive played skaven for some time now and ive just played what i liked in a fluffy context and very fun. My problem comes now ive moved to the other side of my country (denmark) and here, NO friendly fights, no fluff based games ONLY hardcore competition and "haha im better than u attitude". so now i wanna show these (MotherfuSQUEEEL)... So i tried a list only to find out i cant compose a cheesy overpowerd hardcore competition list, cause i have only fought on a "friendly lala base" my whole life some pro's here who have something kick ass i have money enough for a WHOLE new army.(yes im this pissed XD). just want, well, a competition hardass list to actually win me a game against these guys and show the council is after them 2!!!! oooh wise ones help me

Lists alone will not do it. You need to learn to play in a hard-ass manner as well and learn the "technical" tricks that the so called good players throw out at you to ensure you don't get to do what you want, but everything they do always works. My concern is you will not like this new style and it will put you off Warhammer. I would try and work on some of your closest gaming associates and see if you can't pursade them to play a narrative campaign with specialy designed scenarios and themed lists just to show them how much fun it can be. Play with them, but express utter boredom. To the point of napping during their turn. Then get new players, because you'll have ruined any potential friendship with these. |

I think you have two choices. The first is to work with the local gamestore manager to promote a more friendly environment. This should be easier to do if it's an official GamesWorkshop store. After all, the owner should realize that a super competitive environment is going to make it tough for new players to get into Warhammer. Fewer new players = fewer sales. Your other option is to run out and buy several boxes of clanrats. At 2K points, you can field at least 150 normal troops and still have plenty of points to buy other stuff. Also make sure to add in 100 slaves. Now you're throwing 250 some-odd troops at the other guy before adding in your hard-hitting forces. Also make sure to bring annoying things that are tailor made to screw the other guy's list. If he's a shooty/flying elf army, bring the storm banner to shut him down. If he's a heavily armored Chaos or Empire list, bring plenty of jezzails and weapons that auto-negate armor. Deal with hordes armies by bringing even bigger hordes (aka slaves) and plenty of weapon teams. Then, when you stomp them into the ground, you can talk about how you'd like to play more balanced forces. |

BUT when u come from my envirement its a big splash of water in the head though i will try my Games Workshop store hence we only have 1 in denmark i never have been able now i have moved i actually is pretty close to it so i will try thanks for suggestions guys

Lyngby eller Faraos? Hvad spiller folk med, hvem spiller du imod? Og hvorfor spørger du ikke på PF? Meld dig dog ind i EP, de er rene fluffnørder og de har de mest lækre spillelokaler. http://www.powerfist.dk/forum/index.php?board=17.0 You don't want to use an abomination. It's a n00bs choice if you're playing the really good guys. It dies in every game I've seen and people use so much spam in their armies to counter the large ground based threats that it's hardly worth it. You want swarms to stall their ground based infantry and doomwheels to fry knights, single characters and plow through the flanks of regiment as well as cannons to rid yourself of the bloodthirsters and hydras. 2*5 or 3*5 model rat swarm units do exceptionally well. Spam rat packs with models and learn to control the panic and use them to take table quarters and angle out/away from your main battle line. Also: use death renzy on them and attack units with a character in the front line. You can quite easily cram 18 attacks against single character if you like. A single wound on a hero will bring you more than the 23 point the rat pack costs you when they die from frenzy or from the break test. Dont ever bring any of the following: plague monks, ogres, bells or furnaces, abominations, plagueclaw catapults or globadiers. Buy a grey seer, kit him out with all the power stones you can bring and spam the Dreaded thirteenth. Use at least 5 dice and hope for the irresistible. When it suceeds it wins you the game, as long as you know how to pick the right targets. Read the skaven FAQ and make sure you understand how the spell works. Buy 15 point engineer with no gear whatsoever. Skitterleap him on turn one and place him behind your opponents units so they're march blocked on turn 1/2. If you're clever, you can even force your opponent to attack the engineer with harpies or some other flyers so you can also keep them out of your hair for another turn. It's the best 15 point investment you'll make. If you are playing a swarm/shooty army, don't buy a BsB! You need to learn how to play the army in a way where you wont have to fight in close combat too much, so you wont need the BsB for break tests. Deploy close to the back of your deployment zone and don't be afraid to pull back units to draw then away from your opponent. Only n00bs think you always have to move closer to the enemy |

Dont know what EP is. But thanks for the advice i will not take abombs then which ive actually considered hard and i love ur 15pts idea for the warlock and the reason i dont use the danish powerfist is cause i get answeard ALOT in here and powerfist feels like a buy/sell site which is good enough and im in no club. never been in one actually

EP is Emperors's Pride. THey used to be a 40K club, but is now encompassing most major games including WHFB. They are total flufgeeks and from what I read from your posts, you will find a lot of gaming equals among them. Tactial advice from an online forum rarely accounts for much. Such advice will always be general and wont regard the local metagaming as much as advice from the people you usually play will. Make an account at PF and ask around the fantasy boards. Køb & Salg is only a VERY minor part of that forum and you can reach almost any Danish warhammer player in there. |

Hi there, I agree with what gutterfinx was saying skaven are a horde army, the strongest thing you will ever have is the numerical advantage, (i always try to outnumber my opponent by 2-3 to 1), its quite easy in a 1000 pt game for a skaven army to be around 120-150 models (depending on back up from weapon teams), most opponents you face will have there very own musk of fear moment seeing how outnumbered they are as the models go down on the board, imo it is getting your flank charges that makes a good ratman general. |
