So the two tones are an accident. My Devlan Mud had gotten very thick, and I hadn't realized it... And I ran out before I started the second wheel. So when I bought new Devlan Mud, it came up with a different tone. It's possible that I also used Bestial brown on one and vermin brown on the other... They're so similar I might have forgotten which I used for which. ![]() Anyway, I'm trying to decide if I actually like the effect the mistake made, or if I should try to darken up the lighter wheel. Thoughts? MUTATE::: oh, and of course I haven't capped the rivets on the lighter wheel, as I'm still deciding what to do, so of course the darker wheel looks more finished

I voted for 'liking' the two tones. The two toned wheels look pretty sweet, and it matches with Skaven fluff. You ran out of wood after one wheel, so you chopped down a different tree. Since both wheels are brown, the model still retains its coherancy, but it also gains this certain uniqueness. Overall, it's a really cool effect, and the fact that it's accidental just adds to its awesomeness. Do I 'love' it? Well, it's not earth-shatteringly incredible, but it might be, when the second wheel is finished ![]() All in all, really awesome little (accidental) detail! squeeks |

My girlfriend liked it as well, suggesting that it was probably the wheel off of another crashed doomwheel ![]() I couldn't tell if I liked it, or if I was just being lazy. Most replies so far seem to be either neutral or in favor, so I think I'll stick with it... |

I like it. Looks different, and being Skaven we are bound to use any bits and pieces we can find for our weaponry... Keep it as it is - Sammy |

Yep, I think it fitting too. More Skaven war machines should be 'cobbled together' in appearance to reflect our scavenging nature. The paint job reflects this, not garishly different, but enough to give it a more realistic appearance in my opinion. |

It'd be nice to see maybe one or two planks on each wheel which are different again. Afterall, the wood for each side isn't all going to come from the same place. ![]() -Glod |

I wish the people who were against would post their argument for why they don't like it... I'm honestly torn and hearing their point of view would be a help

I'm leaning away from the two tones. I don't mind the different colours, but they should be spread over the planks on both sides. |

I don't think it looks bad but I am no golden demon painter myself. My doomwheel is still model kit plastic gray. |

i don't like the two colors. i get how it's thematic, but it's just a little eye-wrenching to me. nice overall paint job though! |

I'm with riddick on this one, but thats just how I like my painting. Tis unique to see it though, even if it is accidental

I'm afraid I'm leaning away from the two tones. Again, the fluff supporting it is fine but actually seeing it, it just doesn't seem right to me. I think if you are going to do multiple grains it should be on both wheels. |
