I think we will see magic dominating the event with only one scroll, so if you can find time for the furnace, it would probably be worth it. And defiantly spikes on the A-Bomb. |

I'd drop Skrolk. I know you've sort of committed to him because of the PM core choices but he's so expensive for what he is, I certainly wouldn't take him to tourney under 3k (I assume, after a rough tot up, that your at 2250 pts?), so I still think it's worth dropping him. Here's what I would do: Combine RO and packmasters into 1 unit Combine PCBs into one unit, knock 2-3 off (let's say 2, so you're down to 8 PCBs) frees up 2 special choices for your monks Drop Skrolk. That gives you 502 pts to play with. Get instead: Grey Seer, Power Stone Give your SV the Storm Banner Give one unit of Monks the Plague Banner Upgrade your single rat ogre unit: 1 MM with great weapon, Skweel Gnawtooth (thus replacing both packmasters), and one of the rat ogres to a master-bred. Shave off 1 stormvermin and 1 clanrat, and take 2 rat darts (1 packmaster, 5 giant rats). If my quick maths is right, that leaves you four points to buy musicians for your slave units ![]() Also, personally I'd give the monks the shroud or the banner of under-empire instead of plague banner, but if you prefer it, take that. Also, I would prefer the Power stone over the staff of sorcery for aggressive over defensive magic, but if you are set on the staff drop the stone and another PCB for it. Hope that helps. *mutate* Obviously, this assumes that you don't have the furnace available, and is just using the models you listed. If the furnace becomes an option, drop almost anything else for it Would probably make sense in my amendments to drop Skweel and a RO, that will nearly get you there. Also, I didn't notice that you didn't have spikes on your a-bomb, and I was posting while piperider pointed this out - I would take them as a matter of course, so certainly free up 15 points for this.

@piper: HPA does have spikes; my oversight @cap: undoubtedly. looking forward to dual cygor too XD @pox: thanks for the inout. it's 2500pts actually; i was a bit (~10?) under i have been toying with an alternate list replacing skrolk with a seer. with mutate this post when i finalize it you really think skweel should go in RO? I feel like his special abilities benefit the giant rats so much more. Will definitely include him. |

I suggest the ROs because you lack hammer units, so although skweel is great in large units of GRs, I think you might notice him more in ROs in this list. But he'd be good in the rats too - one other thing I just noticed: is 24 giant rats to 1 packmaster an oversight? I would run 4 packmasters with 24 rats, you're just too vulnerable to shooting otherwise. |

True true. Dual Cygors shouldn't pose much of a threat, a ranked unit of slaves could almost best one. --Cap |

Poor Skrolk. He's very metagame-dependent. If you find yourself facing a Dark Elf army (or even High Elves) he's solid gold, for his ability to easily off T3 characters (especially the unkillable 1+/2++/4+++ Dreadlord) and his book. He'd be balanced and pretty worthwhile if he were 100 points cheaper. But he's SO expensive! |
