Hi the following is my current skryre 2000pt list and i would appreciate all comments. Apparently skryre and grey seers don't get along, hence the warlord (whom i will model as a supped up engeneer. The plague priest in the list is represented by a skryre cyborg rat thing that shoots warplightning (rules for warp scroll). I am somewhat new to skaven and I love skryre and all of their gadgets. Anyway heres the list, all comments are welcome. Warlord 185pts Warlock augmented weapon foul pendant portent of verminous doom warlock engineer 144pts magic level 2 dispel scroll warp energy condenser chieftain 102pts warpstone armor shield battle standard plague priest 172pts additional hand weapon warp scroll level 2 30 clanrats 210pts full command shields doomflayer 30 clanrats 240pts full command spears shields warpfire thrower 25 clanrats 187.5pts full command shields rattling gun 21 slaves 42pts 21 slaves 42pts 5 jezails 100pts 5 poison wind globadiers 109pts poison wind mortar doomwheel 150pts warp lightning cannon 90pts 20 giant rats and 2 packmasters 98pts 1mastermoulder with gw 2 rat ogres masterbread upgrade 1 packmaster 110pt

Some ideas: I'm not sure what you gain by a plague priest in this list, other than the warpscroll, and most of the time, unless you're lucky or your opponent is inexperienced, you won't get this off anyway. I would replace him with a cheaper option of another warlock engineer, which fits better anyway. Maybe try out the doomrocket, it's a fun item, at least as potent as the warpscroll, and more likely to come off. Second, I'd trim your clanrat units a bit - so that all 3 are around 25 . . . but that's more personal taste, I guess. I guess you're going with the ratling gun so that you have one of each of the weapon teams (except the grinder) in your list? In which case fine, and I applaud you for it Just be aware it's a shadow of what it once was, and expect your other weapon teams to out perform it.I'd also consider putting your warlord on a war litter to give him a bit more ooomph. And you can theme these however you like - I've been tempted to make an automated skryre firing platform for my skryre warlord ![]() Giant rats and Rat ogres (especially rat ogres) are a bit moulder for a skryre list - I think I'd switch these out, and think about upping the numbers of globadiers instead. And perhaps another unit of jezzails, if your opponents won't mind 2 slave units is ok, but they're so useful you might think about adding one or two more to support your clanrat units. Also, if you think rat swarms fit your theme they make nice melee screens for jezzails/cannons. |

cheers for the ideas, I mainly took the rat ogres for their combat potential (something my army seems to lack) and the giant rats cos my opponent often uses them and they are a real thorn in my side I think i will swap the priest for a lv2 warlock with power stone and doom rocket too. I keep thinking i need something more combat orientated in it but i'm not sure what would suit skryre best... I could always convert a skryre construct of sorts to use as a maneater but i think I've used all my rare choices already

Well, typically a skryre list forgoes CC hittyness for ranged nastiness - although your doomwheel is still a beast; and a clanrat unit with a character and a weapon team (especially Doom flayer, but to some extent WFTs too) becomes more of a CC punch unit too. But don't underestimate your jezzails and cannon - if they can't completely obliterate stuff before it even gets into combat, they can certainly weaken it significantly. |
