new ratman, first 1500 list

note this is 2k now not 1500 sorry for the mistake, still need the help tho

Hey all, long time player new time skaven rat :P
Just been having a quick look through the book and come up with a little list.

totally edited from original post

Plague priest, Flail, plague furnace, 2xscrolls
Warlock, lvl1, energy condenser
25 Clanrats, shields, standard, musician
25 Clanrats, shields, standard, musician
25 Clanrats, shields, standard, musician
21 Slaves, musician
21 Slaves, musician
30 Plague monks, std, storm banner (furnace)
8 Globadiers
8 Censer bearers
Abomination, warpspikes
Doomwheel

Thats with 235 pts left over, duno where to go from here...if that is good enough to start with in the first place.

I really wana get in some weapon teams like poison mortors or warpfire throwers or even a doom flayer or two, i love the idea of them.

I also realise my magic is probably not even worth it tbh so duno where to go on characters either, but i really like the plague priest idea so maybe more of them and more censer bearers and monks..............

OMG where is my lord haha totally forgot to add him in....... take out warlock and add in Greeyseer, 2 stones, scroll???? but then i dont have points for weapon teams :( lol choices choices choices

With the box sets il have 30 plague monks, 18 giant rats, 9 pack masters and probably 3-4 rat ogres left after abomination conversion on some, but im lost now someone help me pleeeeeaaaase lol

My usual opponents are HE, LM and DE

Any thoughts for a rat newbie? lol

Well to start with, you cannot have two energy condenser, only one of your warlock engineer can get the condenser. Second is, if your plague priest on furnace, only give him normal censer, else you will be forcing a load of not needed T tests on your own monks, because he uses the furnace base. You should get one, perhaps two dispel scrolls in the list, you can never go wrong with that :D Both your clanrats and plague monks NEED to get more models in them, sorry, skaven aren't cheap, else they will quickly get very very useless. (heavy shooting at plague monks, no moving furnace, little shooting on clanrats, loss of ld and important ranks.) Also, clanrats should get as a minimum, banner, for the extra important combat resolution. You do not need the champ on plague monk unit, and I would say, bump up for globadiers, they got a magic item to deliver, don't want them to die by a little spell! :( More slaves cannot go wrong, but you got 3 hard hitters and only one clanrat unit to protect, so perhaps not. I just like slaves :lol:
Jezzail fire kills: Stardragon. Two giants. Seven blood knights. Eleven dragon princes. Bloodthirster.

Hellpit yay kills: 16 plague monks in one go. 7 chaos knights which had charged the hellpit.

post totally edited.....now i need more help again lol god iv never had so much trouble tring to make a 2k list, they normally come straight to me but with skaven i feel baffled lol

Yes, I will answer you call, AGAIN!

While it is only 16 points, you should max get 21 slaves, nothing more is needed in slaves units. Mus on the other hand, is a fine and good option. It already looks like a very very fine and solid list, (so good I might even steal it!) For magic in 1,5k games, you might want a second engineer though, but you might still be capable of pulling of a lucky warplightning once or twice, the thing you might look for most with this list is magical protection. And to your lord? You can't have lord choices in a 1,5k game, 2k games and up gains you lord choices :P I really don't know what to add in this list except for a rat dart, but that is only 23 points, plenty of points left. I can warmly recommend some jezzails though too. They really, are worth every gut in points, ingame.

I much appreciate you coming back to my rather upside down and inside out topic haha i made so many bloody mistakes i feel ashamed :blush:

While this list was originally 1500 this will add up to 2k, so dont go trying to use this in a 1500 list or you might find yourself stuck in a sudden rut lol

sooooo for a third time, got any advice on this 2k list? i feel 2k lists generally can differ in power a significant amount compared to 1500 due to some armies lord choices, do i even need a lord or just stick in the weapon teams or plague priests like also mentioned, the idea of the grey seer was to 7/8 dice the dreaded thirteenth spell maybe once or twice and if im really lucky a third time in a game to try and sort out those deathstars lol.....but then again with only one big caster i feel the scrolls coming out and thats like 300+pts wasted on a seer where i could have had other things
