I'm slowly building up to this list, with the new book I can finally do a list I want to play, namely lots of Moulder and Eshin units. Before I get into the list, I'll mention a few things though. First of all, I don't want to include weapon teams since I don't find them to be reliable enough. Secondly, I don't want to include pestilence units ... I don't like the look and feel of them. So the list: Warlord : Bonebreaker, Warlock Augmented Weapon, Ench. Shield, Magnet trinket Chieftan : BSB, Stormbanner, Great weapon Warlock : Lvl 2, Dispel Scroll Warlock : Lvl 2, Dispel Scroll, Condenser 30 Clanrats : Standard, musician, shields 30 Clanrats : Standard, musician, shields 24 Stormvermin : Full command, shields 21 Slaves : musician 21 Slaves : musician 21 Slaves : musician 25 Giant Rats, 4 pack masters, master moulder 5 Giant Rats, packmaster 7 Gutter runners : Poisoned weapon 7 Gutter runners : Poisoned weapon 2 Rat Ogres, Master bred, master moulder w/ Great Weapon, packmaster 8 Jezzails Hellpit abomination : Warpstone spikes Now the questions 1) Is the magnet trinket worth it? Maybe swap it for a ward save? 2) Given that I'm running the storm banner, are jezzails worth it? 3) Would it be worthwhile to have the chieftain as general and use the warlord as a flanker? If I take off the BSB status I can give him some items |

1. Probably worth it. It'll make shooting at him a challenge similar to if he were running about on his own two feet. If your storm banner is also active just hitting the Warlord would become a task of epic proportions. 2. Yes, seeing as the new banner runs out quicker and most battlefields are never lacking for things a Jezzail can't blow apart. 3. That's actually not possible. The position of general must go to the character with the highest leadership. I'm liking the list pretty well. I'd add a unit of Night Runners in. They're good for the theme, darn fast and they work great as flankers. |

Remember, your Jezzails are not affected by your Storm Banner as they are Warpstone Weapons and therefore magical.![]() Q |

Yes they are affected by the Storm Banner. The rule says that all non-magical missiles that don't require BS need to roll for 4+ to be able to shoot. But as they need BS they still suffer the -2 to hit. And yes get a ward save for your lord. |

I would drop the jezzails and give your clanrats some doomflayers especially because your running the storm banner, and put the storm banner on your stromvermin so you can kit out your warlord |

and you might want to think about dropping the cheiftain for an assassin to go along with the eshin/moulder theme if you got the points |

Super solid list. Me likey. But I definitely second the suggestion to keep the Storm Banner with the unit standard bearer. This makes it a lot easier to protect the banner (which you won't care about after it has burned out) AND also allows you to protect your BSB with magical goodies (this you will always care about). Re: your questions: 1- Probably worth it. On a BB he can be picked out by shooting, so he'll probably need it. 2- Jezzails fine. Storm banner will rarely affect them for more than one turn. That said, for their cost you could take NR with a Grinder to better match your theme {but I had terrible luck with the Grinder and don't take it anymore )3- P.Lord is right. (you can't). Mutate: I'd actually suggest 'downgrading' the BB to a humble Warlitter and dropping the GW from the BSB. Then use the saved points to give the BSB Warpstone Armour (legal after moving the Storm Banner). With his mundane hand weapon he'll have a 2+ 'bouncing' save in close combat, which will make it foolish for anything with a strength of less than 5 to even bother allocating attacks his way...Meh... whatever, Bone Breaker could be lots of fun, too!

Have to agree. Even if you want to play the magical missile card, the wording for the storm banner specifically exempts jezzails. As for the jezzails, the stormbanner isn't going to last the whole game and the can re-position while it's on. If I were to replace them, I'd probably go for some other kind of non-weapon team shooting like a cannon or a doomwheel. I don't want to spend too much on the warlord and I've already got 85 pts on him without the bonebreakers points. I'll switch the trinket for the Foul Pendant, but I don't really see what kind of substantial boost I could do with the other 15 ... maybe rival hide ... |
