Mine started as a packet of Cernit/Fimo and i then added the mouth of a squig in each end along with tyranid hormogaunt claws, and warpstone spikes made from plastic rods. WIP shots. (Note the rat heads on the body were removed before painting, as i decided against them to keep the blindworm concept.) ![]() ![]() Painted, but still missing a protective sealer. ![]() ![]()

that's a pretty cool concept, i like the idea of using squigs for his mouths lol. but i think that you need to do more work on the main body and the little tyranid arms as well. currently it looks unfinished. if it's not too much effort i'd even go back to sculpting more details onto the worm body part. maybe just scars or open wounds. things like that, just to make it look more interesting and give you more than just a flat tube when it comes to painting. that'll really help bring the mini to life. |

I agree with Caz. It is a great concept and well done so far, but it seems unfinished. It lacks detail and/or texture. Like when you look at a pebble, it seems 3-d until you use it as a piece of terrain and it suddenly looks flat. Don't know how to describe that any better. Basically it could use some more detail. Adding additional limbs and heads, etc would be nice. And greenstuffing fur is both easy to do and hides joint lines for any of those attachments. All that said, the painting does a good job of covering the flatness of the model. |

I love how happy they look. ![]() If you are asking for constructive comments like Rusty and Caz have said then I'd agree with them on their choices. I'd also like to add that if you sink some pins into the eyesockets then you will have some easily made eyes. A quick trick for scars (because re-attacking fimo is a chore) is to take a saw blade, cut a gouge out of the beast and then use GS to sculpt around the top leaving most of the hole. It generally gives a good effect. If not then a few baby ones would look awesome on the base. ![]() Good work though, nice paint-job and idea. I also like the squig mouths. keep up the good work. -Glod |

Constructive criticism is what forums like this are made for in my oppinion, and I gladly accept it. Luckily the beast is not coated yet, so i can make adjustments before I call him done. As for fur, I am loathe to add it as i want to go for a clean wormish look. The arms I will look at a bit more, I am having trouble figuring out what to do with them I almost wish i hadn't added them. The eye sockets on the "top" head are in fact meant to be nostrils, it is a Blindworm as you know I shall also try and see if i can get some better pictures as i am not happy with the ones i have, underlighted and taken at too great a distance. |

Ah, in that case may I suggest you flare the nostrils slightly at the moment I'm getting a smiley face vibe from them ![]() Eugh, which end of that thing does the waste come out of? Man, it would suck to be that head... -Glod |

If you are going to look at improving the nostrils, perhaps something a little less 'normal' would be the way to go? This way you won't get the 'smiley face' look by accident. I was thinking, something like a Brontasaurus. A ridge on the top of the head that has nostrils on either side. Not a very good example, but the only thing I could find here. Other than that, I like the idea. I agree the body could do with some detailing, and even worms and long insects aren't completely smooth. Like: ![]() or ![]() or ![]() Repeditive shapes and protruding hairs/feelers seem to be a general characterisation. |
